Weekly Update - 4/12/23

Apologies things have been a little bit sporadic for the last few weeks. As some of you on the Discord have guessed, there's been a lot of static with what may or may not be DayJob stuff recently, as things have gotten a little hectic. As such, projects that were "when you have a chance" turned into "NOW NOW NOW" and I lost a lot of time, but ended up banking a bunch of capital that'll help weather the storm, should one come down the pike. I'm almost completely caught up on commissions, with one left outstanding and I'll try and sneak that out to that commissioner some time soon. Don't worry about me -- I'm actually in good shape and good mental health, so nobody panic.

Friday's story will be another chapter of Morgana's Gift, as voted on by the higher level Patrons, and I'm throwing up another poll as to what the other reader chosen story for the month will be. MG can't win twice, but it looks like CARP and Before The Storm were the next two closest, so we'll see which of those wins the other spot. I'm only doing the one chapter of QT2 this month, in order to get caught up on other things, and the next post for Brewster's Brood will be a double-stuffed one, meaning it will be twice as long, and have parts 28 & 29 in it. I've got that on the schedule for 4/25 right now.

Speaking of which, I'm probably not going to take any new commissions for another month or two, just because I need to get my schedule better hammered out. Nobody's actively engaged in discussions about new commissions right now, so just consider this my notice that I won't be taking new commissioners for a little bit. I know there have been weeks where it looks like I'm not doing anything, but during some of those, I've written between 10-40k words, split between DayJob and commissioned works that just aren't out yet. Hopefully I'll be able to start posting some of that soon. One of the commissions that I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out is developing into something I'm actually very proud of, and I can't wait to let you all see it.

Probably the last time I'll mention how to get a signed copy of QTB1 for a while. I'm close to the end of this batch, which means any ones ordered after those sell out will be a bit on delivery. I've got one that's been paid for and is being delivered locally soon, and one more that's shipping out tomorrow. If you're interested, you can still get the book here. For now, anyway.

Here's the public release schedule for the next month or so: 4/15 - C.A.R.P. 1, 4/22 - Devil's Details 5, 4/29 - The Threadbinders 5, 5/6 - C.A.R.P. 2, 5/13 - A Pack Of His Own 1. We're settled around the 6 month delay time now, which means a bunch of stuff that started at the very end of last year (CARP, Pack, QT2) will start showing up on those public sites.

Some of you have asked what I listen to when I'm writing, and it varies a lot from story to story, but one of the bands I often go back to give me a kick into writing is a band called This Will Destroy You. They have this lovely way of filling the space with sounds that evoke imagery. I'll leave you with one of theirs and I'll see you on Friday!
