Weekly Update - 4/5/23
Added 2023-04-06 00:50:49 +0000 UTCSo, here's where we stand for right now. I'm still behind on a few things from last month, so other than standard postings, those'll take priority, with one minor exception. Today (hopefully) I'll have the long awaited next chapter of Quaranteam: Phil's Tale out, and either Friday or (more likely) Saturday or Sunday, I'll have QT2:7. I still owe two commissions for last month, so those'll be what I'm working on around there as well, so if you haven't gotten your commission yet, I have not forgotten about you. Just doing what I can to keep everything flowing.
I lost a few days of the weekend due to environmental disruptions that were completely out of my control, but am doing everything I can get back on track. I also have an old friend visiting from international at some point over the next couple of days, which is why I think it might be Saturday or Sunday before you see QT2:7. He and his son are out visiting and they're always incredibly generous with their time when I'm in their country, so whatever time they want to spend with me, I'm going to take them up on it. But I'll still be working as best I can.
Also, I'm happy to announce that towards the end of the month, we'll be starting up another QT limited series spinoff, titled Quaranteam: Aisling's Antics, but it'll be a 10-part series instead of a 5-parter. I've written the first part already, the commissioner is very happy with it and so when I write part 2 in the later part of the month, I'll post part 1 here, which means the public sites will start seeing QT:AA in October.
If you're still interested in getting a signed copy of QTB1, I think I have 4-5 left here in this batch, so once those are gone, I'd have to do another batch order, which would mean another 2-3 week wait for Amazon to ship them. So I'm not saying they'll be out of stock, but they'll be temporarily out of stock after those few. You can get the book here.
I'll throw up the first poll for voters tomorrow, but the turnaround time is going to be pretty quick, so you'll only have until Monday to vote. Then I'll run a second one starting Tuesday of next week for the second "You decide" on what I'm writing for the month.
Anyway, despite delays, I've actually been very proud of the quality of work I've been putting out lately, and everyone here stressed quality over quantity, so I hope you've all been enjoying it as much as I have.
Here's the public release schedule for the next month or so: 4/8 - The Writing's On The Wall, 4/15 - C.A.R.P. 1, 4/22 - Devil's Details 5, 4/29 - The Threadbinders 5, 5/6 - C.A.R.P. 2. For those of you keeping track, that was stuff that was released here on the Patreon in November of last year, so we're about on schedule.
Last thing, I try to give you folks music that I'm listening to now and again to help you find new things to listen to. A couple of months back, I started hearing about this band from London called Sleep Token, who were described to me as Tool meets Muse, and I completely understand that comparison the more I listen to them. They're metal but with sharp melodic vocals. Their whole schtick is a little much for my tastes (there's a performance art aspect to them, where they hide their identities and pretend they're "vessels" for a deity known as "Sleep," and call their concerts "rituals" but damn if they aren't pretty talented musicians, schtick aside. Give a listen if you're into post-metal/prog-metal.
