Weekly Update - 11/30

Well, I'm finally back from my long vacation trip with my best friend and I'm getting spun up on writing again, but I am, surprise surprise, still a little behind. I'm about halfway through BB24, so expect that to drop sometime tomorrow, I expect. (I *might* get it done late tonight, but I think it's better to be realistic than optimistic right now.) 

I'm also going to call an audible and move Chapter 1 of QTB2 to 12/6, so I have time to get it right, and to finish getting caught up on stuff from November that I still owe people. What I am going to do for 12/2 is release the first chapter of a new work I've been commissioned for. The commissioner was extremely eager to get it in front of other people as soon as possible (and honestly, I think it's a pretty solid piece of writing from me - it's another entry into the Modern Mythos collection that includes IIH, SSMM, Janus Coins, Devil's Details and the Silversmith stories) and I want to have a little more time to make sure I nail QT2:1 exactly the way I want it. I know a few more days is a bummer of a wait, but trust me, the short wait will make for a much better result in the long run. There's a lot of heavy lifting to be done in QT2:1 so it's essential that everything start off on the right foot. 

On the plus side, you'll find a small image file attached to this post, which is the central cover image for the print version of QTB1, which I'm currently aiming for end of January now. I still need to finish up the early chapter edits and whatnot, but it's coming along, and my engines are mostly recharged from the break spent with my best friend (who did the cover for the book). Probably another day or two's worth of work before I can send it on to alpha editors, so once I can find time to squeeze that in, I will. But I thought giving people a glance at the cover image would be nice.

So here's what our current schedule looks like: 12/1 - BB24, 12/2 - A Pack of His Own 1, 12/6 - QT2:1, 12/9 - Morgana's Gift 13, 12/13 - SSMM 4, 12/17 - Breakpoint 4, 12/20 - You decide 2. And then we'll be off until 1/3, although I may drop chapters from Devil's Details or McCallister's Madness in that break period, assuming I can get my butt in gear. I sort of have a theory that QT2:1 is consuming all of my brain power right now, and once I finally put it down on page, all the other streams will start flowing faster again. We'll see if that's true or not. 

And here's what our public release schedule looks like: 12/3 - QTPP 5, 12/10 - IIH 12, 12/17 - QT49, 12/24 - The Devil's Details 1, 12/31 - Quaranteam: McCallister's Madness 1. I'm going to let public releases continue to get them a little more caught back up, but we'll see. I don't know for sure when other sites are and aren't updating, but that's when I'll be having things to them in time for their release windows.

In a final note, if you like mystery stories at all, make a point to watch Glass Onion, the sequel to Knives Out, which got a one-week release in theaters, and will be on Netflix by the end of December. It's fantastic, and honestly, I wanted to see it a second time as soon as the first time had finished. Rian Johnson is going to do a third one, and I can't wait.
