How to paint and sculpt a lava base

Today I have for you a tutorial about painting my Lava Base.
I also uploaded here the tutorial about sculpting the base, in order to have everything in one place.
When you will follow my steps, keep in mind that the photos that you will see at some point will start looking as if the lava really is shining.
It will look like that for two reasons:
1. It is painted in the way that should create an illusion of shining, and one reasons for that is the way where the lights and shadows are placed, and the fact that source of light (lava) is surrounded by darker colors.
2. Because it really is shining. You are watching the photos on a computer or a phone screen, which literally shine in your direction. I'm making my photos in as honest way as I can, but the fact is that I can't do anything about the fact that monitors are really shining.
When I hold the model in my hands it looks the same, it still creates the illusion of shining but not in the same as on the phone, so keep it in mind when you will paint your models.

This is so amazing, I really struggled with getting those lines from the orange to appear so I could do them like you did, and then I couldn't make the cooled lava look as beautiful either, I'm not sure how to do the cooled lava bits in such a natural manner. it made me so envious of your gorgeous lava
