Hello!
I can finally say that, as of now you can find on my patreon a new step-by-step tutorial about painting Uther's face.
It's the 100th PDF tutorial on this patreon, and definitely the most massive as well.
On the face of Uther I wanted to create something very special, because I finally had space for experiments. That's why I decided to paint him with smaller contrast, in order to make him look more natural and realistic. At the same time I decided to use techniques from oil paintings, and hide plenty of colors in the midtones and shadows.
I spent many hours watching and analyzing oil portraits before I finally started to translate my knowledge into this face. It was risky, because simply painting with strong contrast is something that everyone likes, but I decided to try out my ideas.
I hope you like the final effect.
Ps. The other side of the face will be illuminated by OSL, that's why it's unpainted at the moment ;)
