The scene with Helge's Mother: She says, "he wasn't conceived in love" and implies she hates him. Helge is around 7 or 8 years old. Which means he most likely was conceived around the end of the war. I'm German,and I know that weird silence and the strange family secrets all to well. My father was born around that time and I'm like 99% sure he wasn't "conceived in love". No one would talk about it of course. The generation of my grandparents (who were teens at the end of the war) was really fucked up. They portray that realy well in this show.
