How to paint a freehand with a structure

Hello,

today I have for you a new video on which I presented and explained how I painted right side of the eagle on Valoris' cloak. Thanks to this video you should learn how to paint freehands (I'm not sure how else it can be called in the situation when the shape of the eagle was already there) in a way that creates structure of the material as well. I hope you will enjoy this video and it will be useful for you.

Oh wow thanks!

I use liquid masking film from Talens, and its a liquid that you apply on a surface just like paint, and after it dry out you can easy remove it with something sticky like patefix, blue tack etc or with a toothpick. For applying you should NEVER use a brush ;) I use a color shaper what is basicly a brush that has a rubber instead of hair on its end. But you also apply it drop by drop with a use of a toothpick or something like this. I think I will make a short video with presentation of how it works :)

I have an unrelated question. In a few of your tutorials you use masking. I'm about to add some weathering to armor but I want to protect other parts of the model... any advice on how to do this and what products to use? Thanks.
