Pokenin 029

Of course, right as Cynthia was going to drop some heavy knowledge on him, Zinnia tiredly collapsed on the table, and slobbered drool all over the place.

Like that, the intense atmosphere retreated, and Cynthia demurely covered her mouth, masking her chuckle, so as not to wake Zinnia.

Tekai looked to the ceiling in apathy for a moment, then turned to whisper to Cynthia.

“Maybe we can move her to another room, and continue our discussion? I'm serious about the ancient language, Cynthia sensei.”

“Hm, some people just aren't interested in history. Yes, let's continue this conversation in my solar. Garchomp, take Zinnia to an unoccupied room.” Cynthia said to Tekai, then released her starter, giving the ground-dragon a set of orders.

“Chomp.” Garchomp came out of her pokeball, nostrils flaring.

Eying Tekai with surly disdain, she went to pick up Zinnia, and was quick to depart.

“Come, Tekai, we still have an hour of one on one training to get too, so we mustn't tarry.” Cynthia beckoned, then took the lead.

Jumping from his seat, Tekai was quick to follow after her.

Moving through the expansive mansion, Tekai was once again marveling at the various art pieces, old weapons, and what looked like…blueprints for modern buildings???

Feeling as if there was some dark secret about the ancient language, Tekai eagerly picked up his pace, and accidentally bumped into Cynthia's backside as he had caught himself staring at the art for a minute too long.

That brief moment of contact was the softest thing he had ever felt.

‘Hmm, warm and curvy~’ Tekai closed his eyes, and embraced the sensation.

Something in his pants began to go to half mast, yet it wasn't to last long.

However, this feeling of nirvana was short lived, as a throat chop caught him in the neck, and Tekai ragdolled across the floor, and slammed into the wall with a mighty thwack.

Gasping for air, and clawing at his neck, Tekai felt as if something had broken!

“Oh dear. Apologies, Tekai, I'm accustomed to being touched from behind. The war has just ended, and the ambush last night has me a little on edge.” Cynthia leaned down, and picked him up.

Tekai was having difficulties appreciating the soft contact of her breasts, because he was currently gasping for dear life!

Holding her hand on his neck, it glowed green, and Tekai felt himself begin to regain the full function of his throat.

‘Just great! My sensei knows the Shadow Clone AND Mystic Palm. I really got scammed by Jiraiya. Trading that pervert for those two skills was such bs!’ Tekai internally raged.

Outwardly, however, he began to smile. Because while he had kind of scammed himself, this discovery meant that Cynthia could give him tips!

“Something amuses you, Tekai? I didn't take you for the masochistic sort, but after witnessing your relentless dedication to training, I’m beginning to have second thoughts. Perhaps I can give you some special attention and push you beyond your limits?” Cynthia sweetly smiled, and put a little pressure on her nails, creating a red mark on Tekai's arm.

‘Holy shit, is Cynthia a closet sadist!?!!?’ Tekai widened his eyes.

“Uh, uh, uh, yes, I mean, no!” Tekai, under duress, shouted out the wrong response, because he was interested in her healing hands.

“Well, which is it?” Cynthia carried Tekai deeper into the solar, seemingly having no intention of releasing him from her clutches anytime soon.

‘Shoot, big bro really did warn me that Cynthia was a tough one!’

Licking his lips, Tekai quickly tried to calm himself, and looked up into his teacher's steely cool grey eyes.

Best to redirect her attention.

“I traded for the Mystic Palm technique the other day with my apricorn. I managed to initialize it, and even melded a poor old man's broken bones. However, I am a novice, and would greatly appreciate your tutelage!”

“Oh, that's all?” Cynthia questioned in an airy tone.

Closing his eyes, Tekai felt as if she could 100% tell if he were lying. It was as if she had some combo of woman's intuition, and the Ryu Clan's instinct both working at the same time.

“...well, if it's in the name of training….I don't mind so much if you're a little rough.” Tekai sheepishly hung his shoulders.

While he wasn't a masochist, he knew this was an anime world. One where extreme training and hardcore workouts made men into monsters.

This kind of regimen also meant he got to share some skinship with Cynthia, soooo…yeah.

“Good boy. There's nothing to be ashamed of with admitting your feelings, Tekai.” Cynthia gently stroked his hair, as if he were some sort of cat, then finally sat him down on a chair.

“The Mystic Palm is one of my skills, one I shall, of course, be happy to instruct you in. We are, after all, student and teacher. Our days spent training last 8 hours, I'm certain we can find some time in between physical, Pokémon, and ancient language studies.” Cynthia said to him as she wrapped herself around a desk, and took a seat.

Unsealing a scroll, Cynthia revealed a kettle, alongside some cups, and poured both of them some tea.

“Thank you, sensei.” Tekai got up from his seat, and formally bowed.

“You're welcome. I'll turn you into a True Dragon yet, Tekai.” Cynthia seriously nodded, then gestured for him to be seated.

Taking a sip of his tea, Tekai waited for her to continue with her reveal of ancient secrets. Whilst he was waiting, Cynthia was going through her desks drawer looking for something, and Tekai noticed a map.

It depicted the continent of the Elemental Nations, and had a few locations circled in red. One spot was relatively close to them, and was at the border between the Land of Dragons & Fighters.

Tekai wondered to himself if perhaps there was more to the war between nations than strictly national pride or hegemony.

His thoughts on such matters were broken when Cynthia placed an old book on the table before them. It too was written in Unknown script.

“Before I hand this off to you to study, there are a few things you should know about the history of the world, and the ancient language.” Cynthia said in a deadly serious tone.

Sitting up straight in his seat, Tekai couldn't help but grin at Cynthia.

“History is my favorite subject. Please, Cynthia sensei.” Tekai slightly bowed in respect.

“My, my, how eager, you remind me of myself when I learned the old ways from my grandmother.” Cynthia twirled a finger in her tea, and stared Tekai in the eyes with a blank expression on her face.

After a moment, Cynthia flicked her finger, and a drop of water fell onto Tekai's forehead.

Blinking his eyes, Tekai realized he had been placed under a genjutsu!

He was going to activate the Dragon Dance to free himself, however, a soft embrace from behind stopped him from that.

“Look up, Tekai. This is the memory passed down by our ancestors from over a thousand years ago.” Cynthia gestured all around them.

Glancing about himself, he saw a modern world, one just like current day Earth. There were cars, skyscrapers, electrical appliances, and a thousand other technologies.

“...” Tekai was confused by this revelation. Had the world regressed at some point?

“From the look on your face, I can tell you are confused. Did you notice that there aren't any Pokémon? Or these strange creatures, animals as they were called, roam in their stead?” Cynthia asked, and gave him a comforting squeeze on the shoulder, before letting him go.

“Yes, it is peculiar.”

“This was a time before Pokémon, before chakra. It was an era where Pokémon were created by man, to be wielded as weapons of war.” Cynthia declared.

Afterwards, the illusion shifted, and Tekai saw scenes of men shooting at Pokémon, and of a nidoking tearing apart a tank like it was made of paper.

Buildings were demolished, and the people died enmass. Then, a great flash, and the city was no more. With this explosion, the genjutsu was broken, and Tekai once again found himself within Cynthia's office.

“The weapons our forebears created were too great. In their fear, they unleashed the ultimate weapon, and reset this world in a cataclysm of fire. By doing so, they inadvertently released radiation in the air. One that killed 90% of all lifeforms on the planet, but led to strange mutations in the survivors…”

“Chakra, you're talking about chakra!” Tekai exclaimed.

He couldn't believe it, the Humans of the ancient past has used nukes against the rampant Pokémon, and as a result, chakra became a pervasive force encompassing the planet!

“Just so.” Cynthia nodded demurely.

“Ah, but what about the Legend of Arceus? Isn't he supposed to be the progenitor Pokémon? The one who created them?” Tekai questioned.

“So you weren't bluffing about your love of history. Good. I would hate to teach someone who was uninterested.” Cynthia smiled at him,  and began to make another pot of tea.

“As for Arceus, hmm, are you aware of what a gene is? Or DNA? I can explain these concepts to you if you are unaware-”

“I know! If I can guess what you're inferring, you're saying Arceus is like, like some sort of carrier for the genetic code of all the other Pokémon?” Tekai scrunched his brow, and thought hard as he tried to explain his reasoning.

“Very good, Tekai.” Cynthia praised as she clinked her spoon around one of her teacups, stirring some sugar inside.

“Yes, common nomenclature and beliefs view Arceus as some divine being. A God. In many ways, he isn't so far off from being one. The Legendaries are so powerful, to us mortals, they might as well be considered as such.”

“...this is incredible, Cynthia sensei, thank you for sharing this knowledge with me.” Tekai bowed, genuinely moved that he was able to learn these secrets.

He could tell that this wasn't the kind of info shared on the regular, and was some straight up illuminati type shit. If he ever tried to explain this to someone else, they would probably look at him as if he were some flat Earther.

“You're rather accepting of this information, this is a good sign of your maturity.” Cynthia complimented.

Tekai could only sheepishly chuckle, and scratch the back of his head. As someone who had transmigrated, he kind of had to accept weird things. Being reborn was pretty high up on the tier of weirdness, if he couldn't adapt to Pokémon being genetic experiments, then he'd probably be crazy by now.

“So now that I know the history of Pokémon, and the fate of the ancient people, I can sort of see where you're going with the ‘power of the ancient language.’ It's in the technology, isn't it?”

“That is mostly correct.” Cynthia replied with a coy smile.

“Huh?” Tekai replied, unable to help himself.

“Yes, mostly correct. Technological advancements have been the prime driving factor for most loremasters, professors, and ruins hunters. Electricity, sewers, skyscrapers, potions, berry usage, key items, powder weapons, and more are due to the search and recovery of these ancient ruins. But the ancient language holds another puzzle to power, one unlockable by any who hold knowledge of its secrets.” Cynthia dragged a black-painted fingernail across her desk, and pointed at the thin tattered tome that she had retrieved earlier.

It couldn't be thicker than the width of a hand, but it must be something special for Cynthia to treat it with so much mystery.

The busty blonde then shifted it towards him so that he could read it.

After spending half a minute deciphering the Unknown characters, Tekai's eyes widened, and he felt as if he had hit the jackpot.

The title read:

Sealing Techniques.
