The Future of Team Cynthia/Vote on the Next Story
Added 2025-04-04 03:39:24 +0000 UTCSo Team Cynthia gets no likes, leading me to believe it is unpopular. I am considering dropping it for another story and or severely limiting how often it updates.
Option One: Keep Writing Team Cynthia
Option Two: Continue my SWTOR Sith SI story which you can find a pirated copy right here: https://www.webnovel.com/book/swtor-sith_27513196506973805 it goes up to ch 26 on questionable questing, but I'm thinking of starting fresh from ch 24, none of this mngall-mngall crap.
Option Three: write: A Logical Man In A World of Superheroes (an original work, possibly DC crossover if you guys really think it needs it)
TLDR: Basically a powerless guy wakes up as a prisoner in a room with a super powered girl. The villain monologues over the intercom about the strength of his impenetrable door. The heroine keeps hitting the door, and the MC goes "have you tried hitting the walls besides the door?" "What are you, stupid? Malificious is a madman, but he isn't stupid!' The heroine replies with a scoff, then began beating on the door once more. "Well, excuse me for complaining about the tinnitus your fists are causing me when you strike that door, but if you haven't noticed, the ceiling has been getting closer and closer every second. Now unless you want to be smooshed like a pancake, how about we try a hand at those walls to the side?"
And you get the rest. Everyone will come to think the MC has some insane IQ/amazing detective abilities, but really, he's just some comic nerd that knows all the tropes, and exploits them to win the day.
For this MC, I intend to have him co-opt the gadgets the villains use. The first companion would be a robot android found in the 1st villains lair that he didn't get to wake up. Her name is GEN1 aka Genocidal Electrocuting Neurolizer One but the MC calls her Geni. She'll have a lot of that deadpan machine humor that I gave Paul for those who read my Sith story.

View it as inspiration, rather than actual basis. That made it work for me. After all, the actual original Pokemon is entirely incompatible with the way his story works. Made me eventually change my vote to that story. It's more akin to Age of Adepts in setting. Only that they progress with bonded partners much like a Beastmaster Hunter in WoW. A symbiosis akin to a Dragonrider bond in Inheritance Cycle, rather than what you have in Pokemon. The main thing that sticks around is the evolution aspect, but it seems to hold somewhat true for their partners as well. Jumping in power together with them. Somewhat streamlined with the idea of Chakra as a basis, wielded in different ways, down different pathways.

2025-04-04 21:15:34 +0000 UTCAight, I'm barely through the first chapter, and I'm already highly unsure about letting this story end... I think most just haven't given it a shot yet. I can only find it here on patreon, and there's no clear "chapter 1" one has to actually look for a chapter with a related name, and there's not enough room to read what chapter it is. It's just too troublesome to find for most to have formed an informed opinion about it, I think. Release some chapters elsewhere, and I basically guarantee you'll have more readers for it. It looks really promising so far... A big part of it is that the Pokemon fanfic crowd, is so different from the SW/WC fanfic crowd in general. And they end up thinking it's similar to other pokemon fanfics, when that couldn't be further from the truth. It actual has a similar level of realism and grit. And is closer to an original fic inspired by Naruto and Pokemon. In short! It needs better visibility and advertising to make a fair vote out of it. From what I've seen so far, I'd beg for both. But I'll go through the story to decide which I'd want you to finish first. PS. I had a similar idea to this fic once, long ago. I wonder if we talked about it?

2025-04-04 16:04:24 +0000 UTCAhh, how immensely troubling... I REALLY want another SW story set in The Old Republic. But at the same time, it seems incredibly unfair to vote against a story I've barely read a few words from... All the more when I don't have anything against either franchise involved. What's even better is that the SW story is set in one of my favorite SI takes for the setting... I'm just gonna have to read the story I would be voting against and coming back to this.
