Episode 3. I loved these performances and can't wait to see the rest of them! Everyone is so talented and more trainees are starting to shine too!

“I LOVE YOU, I WANT YOU, SEOK MATTHEW” will always be ICONIC!

Boys Planet: EP.3 | REACTION

Comments

The killing part was definitely an advantage; people were going to gravitate more around the one who got more exposure. & signal song released before the start of Boys Planet, so everyone was already rooting for the signal song center.  Do you know in other mnet produce serious/gp999 Every major auditioned country had its own representative center, so it was so cruel to the g-group center not getting a chance to be on the same platform as the k-group center. G-group was the underdog team, and they keep stepping on them using their unfair criteria in the first couple of episodes. And at the beginning, hao was called the nugu center (which means center no one knows, people often joke about he may be the first center to not debut, but he just pulled uno reverse because of his own talent). And still some people try to discredit Hao's signal song center position because of the boysplanet's irregular setting, since people often get confused with the differences between the signal song center and the killing part. The killing part won because K-group has more all-stars, not because Hao is any less talented than K-group center. And never in the MNET survival show histroy signal song center hasn't debuted in the final line-up, so it's a huge advantage getting center & shine in the killing part. Sorry for writing a whole ass essay don't know whether u gonna read or not but i need people who watch bp to know how some things effect on these trainees.

Tbh, the Gunwook hate train was single-handedly ended by Zhang Hao in the Tom Boy episode, saying he is nice and not scary because many star creators took his confidence as arrogance. Gunwook said his mom likes Hao the most as a teammate, because Hao helped Gunwook in the show and talked so nicely about him. Don't worry, no one really hates Gunwook now.

golden gia

Omg they were so hard on baby yujin after ep1 & it's so sad to see him struggling & crying

golden gia

fun fact : Matthew's catchphrase "I love you, I want you, Seok Macchu" was actually coined by Keita

Ashura

I really liked him from day one too, but Koreans take seniority super seriously, so some thought that Gunwook was disrespectful to Hwanhee (a debuted idol) by taking leadership of the KTL team. He did change his attitude quite a lot for the next round, and considering they started to film it after those episodes aired, I think that it was a deliberate choice Gunwook made in order to improve his image.

Ashura

Jay was the one that didn’t make the group that I was rooting really hard for to make it. Him and Matthew are really close although it’s not shown on the show. They’ve continued to hang out even after the show 💖

Chan Chowder

YAY!! Excited to watch <3

Chan Chowder

Well I love him and will delete any Gunwook disrespect! Not in this house! 😅🧸

Sir Austin

At this point Gunwook was one of the more controversial trainees to support. Fans either loved him or hated him, but that meant that the supporters he did have were intensely loyal. And he's obviously very loved as a member of the group now.

I understand and respect your opinion but in that program were many idols that had already debuted such as Cix, AB6IX, A.C.E, VANNER, Pentagon, ETC. too so I don't think it's fair to only judge Jay's case and see it as something negative that his fans watched the show only for him, because everyone did the same with their own favs. Yes, Jay had a lots of fans but he also was one of the best vocalist of the program and all his perfomances were top3. Also, the fans had no say in ANYTHING until the final, Jay's entire journey and his positions on the show were decided exclusively by the judges, so the fans didn't do anything either

Mury

I had so many issues with that show. I love both Jay and wumuti so don’t take this the wrong way. I didn’t want Jay to be on the show. Why because he had just debuted in onepact. Plus I knew that many of his fans were gonna vote for only him no matter what and they did. It’s not appropriate to watch a show for one specific person and then only vote for that person.

I highly recommend watching Mnet's Build Up: Vocal group program that came out this year if you're curious to hear more of Jay and Wumuti (the boy in the cap and center of Love Me Right G-group) singing. The two of them participated and showed new facets and different styles of singing in the program, something that at least Wumuti couldn't show in Boys Planet. Super recommended

Mury

I share your preference for vocals on the raw end... I wish people didn't expect a live performance to sound like a CD. Give me all the cracks and breath pops, I want to feel part of the moment, and that means accepting whatever someone's voice is doing in the moment.

Evan Murray

Mannn the episode I fell in love with jay

Donshay Stewart

Yes and theirs a survival show that wasn’t a produce series in which the boy who was center for the signal song ended up finishing rank 1. But he ended up not debuting because they tried to screw him over.

B2023316

I love how much Matthew makes you smile. Honestly I think he does that for almost everyone. The J-Hope reference there makes sense - they both bring sunshine. When they smile, it makes you want to smile too. I haven't even finished this one and you uploaded the next one. You're spoiling us, sir 😁 We started to see Woongki in this and I'm so excited for you to get to know him more...

Evan Murray

Just saying, If you want to watch the "clean" performances videos (like without the judges's reactions in the middle) you can find them on youtube😚. I enjoyed this SO MUCH, been waiting all week to watch with you, so please IF you DO record and edit, just upload dont wait for no reason 🥹. And dont worry about saying your opinions, you are very respectful and thoughtful and the reason i watch you is because i like hearing your true opinions. Thank you so much💗

You mentioned that you know the least about Yujin, but you'll get much more familiar with him throughout this show. He has one of the clearest growth arcs on the show, largely due to how harsh the judges were on him. After you finish Boys Planet, I recommend you watch the ZB1 episode of Dope Club (a variety show hosted by dance master Baek Kooyoung), which addresses some of the hardships Yujin faced on this show. The signal song stage is actually released before the first episode for these survival shows. It's most viewers' first introduction to the boys, so you're absolutely right that the center position in that signal song performance is a huge advantage. As a matter of fact, every contestant who has been the center for that stage throughout the Produce series (as well as all three centers from Girls' Planet) made the debut group, and Hanbin continued that trend. Being center is one of the reasons Hanbin was ranked 1 from the first episode--everyone knew who he was before voting even opened.

Dani

ktl zhang hao you will always be famous ❤️ he will forever be THE main slayer

Nora

Trust me it only gets worse in terms of evil editing. I’m thinking of a specific example that will be coming up in a few episodes.

B2023316

Yeah. The whole show is very nuanced and the editing can make things look a certain way.

Sir Austin

Yes there was 2 Hanbins on the show and both were insanely talented. Fans just unanimously decided to refer to them as Shanbin (Sung Hanbin) and Phanbin (Park Hanbin) to differentiate who was who. You already know Sung Hanbin but Park Hanbin is also someone to make note of and look out for! The whole K vs G rivalry was ridiculous and more fabricated by MNET than anything. A lot of these trainees trained together prior to the show so there isn't really any bad blood between Korean trainees and foregin trainees the way they tried to push it on the show. Plus in a lot of extra clips they released on youtube, you see the K and G guys hanging out with each other all the time, even during these "K vs G" missions. Plus G group were at a disadvantage in this round because K group, the trainees obviously had a common language they can communicate in (Korean), plus most of them have some sort of Kpop training prior to the show. G group on the other hand, had trainees from various nations with various languages so communication wasn't always smooth. Plus not all G group trainees trained to be Kpop idols prior to the show so their training may be different. You'll notice that the G-groups that did well during this round (like Kill This Love) were the ones with guys who spoke fluent korean and/or trained to be Kpop idols. Thankfully, this whole Kvs G goes away after this round.

Secretninja312

I’m currently watching another survival show and theirs 2 guys named Kim seungho. The way they differentiate is that one was born in 2006 the other 2007.

B2023316

For Aju nice the internet got into a massive argument over who did the high note better. I would say cong did. Seungkwan usually tends to do it in more mixed voice and cong did it full falsetto. But also the fact that seungeon has more experience in singing then cong the fact he even attempted it at all insane.

B2023316

One of the issues I had with the whole K vs G thing was this round was totally unfair. Most of the G group didn’t know Korean very well yet had they been mixed groups they could’ve gotten help but most of the groups where on their own with it and that’s totally now fair in anyway.

B2023316

The back door G group they didn’t mean to leave Kamdan out by speaking in Chinese. I’ve been inside situations like that in which they all speak a specific language and they forget that I don’t speak that language. People do think it was evil edited to make it seem like they were intentionally leaving Kamdan out since both Brian and Christian also speak English.

B2023316

There are two Hanbins- Park Hanbin, and Sung Hanbin, Matthew's bestie, who debuts with the group.. we call them Phanbin & Shanbin to differentiate. Phanbin is also a really talented vocalist & dancer!
