I love it!

BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star | EP. 2

Comments

I felt exactly as you did when you talked about Fake Love, it was my introduction to them as well. They've told us before that this time was hard, so hard for them, but seeing it in this new way is... I just love them so much. Thanks for a wonderful reaction.

29:37 I think it's from BV season 2!

I had the same thought!! And I already was imagining showing it to my friends and family so I was a bit sad (because of my own expectations) on how army specific it is and that locals would need SO much more information to get everything

Hobi's b-day scene gets me every time I see it, it's always hard seeing them cry but something about our sunshine crying I just can't handle. Even though I know it was mostly tears of joy then, it's still hard. And I've seen bangtan bombs or behind the scenes of when they won artist of the year in 2016 they all cried. Yoongi covered is mouth on stage cuz he was sobbing, some of the members joked later they were confused and thought he was laughing for a second before they realized he was sobbing. That whole scene backstage after winning them crying and hugging each other makes me emotional. I'm missing them a lot today.

I think the first episode had footage I hadn't seen before but I can see where your coming from in ep.2. I will also say I guess I had built up in my mind that this would be more like an introductory documentary that the general public could watch if they were curious about their story but so far it feels more specific to army. I don't think it would make much sense watching as gp without much prior context so I will have to reframe my thinking or what I thought it would be about and take it for what it is. It's only the first 2 episodes so we will just have to see when the series is complete.

When I tell you about the amounts of tears I've shed and its only episode 2

Im liking this documentary, however at the moment it does feel like its more of a compilation of old clips we have seen before, so hopefully once it gets into 2020 time it will begin to be more new stuff. Bring the Soul is still my favourite documentary of the 4

I loved this episode, but at the same time, it was heartbreaking. Seeing the struggles and dilemmas they were going through broke my heart. In this episode, Suga quoted lyrics from his solo song Seesaw from one of the albums that were released at the time, and for the first time I realized that he wasn't talking about a romantic relationship, he was talking about the members, that he was describing what he was experiencing with the members. I'm glad this made them stronger and I'm glad that they are always transparent to each other! Can't wait for the next two episodes..

My emotions were all over with this episode. But, the borderline is BANG PD IS THE BEST!!!!! PERIODT!!!!! And I'm glad that the boys have learnt how to pace themselves and realized that resting isn't necessarily bad. I am excited to see what kind of music they will produce with the mindset they will have in 2025.

Fake Love (and the whole LY: Tear album) is something that exists because they were able to overcome those hardships - so I don't think you should feel bad about loving it, or having a special relationship with it since it was your first BTS song - it was an important step in their path to healing, so even if they weren't at their best mentally when they recorded and filmed it, and even if the song and the album talk about that darker time, it's something that shines as an example of moving forward through hard times. I'm also just blown away by how BangPD prioritizes the human, rather than the business or the money. He has a lot of foresight, compassion, and empathy as a person. I was drawn to BTS because they made me feel less cynical about the world - and to see that reflected in how they're managed and supported too is just amazing.

This episode had my emotions all over the place. I also agree with what you said at the end. There are so many great moments and songs and it's sad to know that during some of their greatest moments they were really struggling and couldn't even enjoy what they were accomplishing. I am so glad that they were able to overcome so much individually and as a group. If any one of the members were not chosen or there was someone else i don't think they would have made it. These 7 men were meant to be together.

Bang PD is great. In my opinion he also was a factor as to why BTS got to where they are now. I got into kpop in 2015 and there wasn't that many groups that spoke about the topics the way BTS did. He also allowed them to be themselves and to be open that's one of the reasons that gravitated me towards them, BTS is a group of thinkers that allow themselves to be emotionally honest. I also loved how they had a connecting story going through their MV's which was also rare back then. The BTS Universe lore was very interesting and intriguing because I had never seen it done by any other artist.

Ok I'm going to have to watch this later 😂
