I reacted to JK's new music video and full album!
Posting 1st to Patreon.
I'll be back to posting more on Monday!  I start my new shift at work Monday.
I'll probably record some on Sunday too!

I'm sure JK will be promoting and I'll try to keep up with his performances for the album

Jung Kook - Golden - Album Reaction!

Comments

I totally get your opinion about the album in general. For me, the singles grew on me except for Standing next to you, that caught me right off the bat. When I listened to the album, I get why JK chose these songs. It did have a story, love of course. But the way he sang and his tone change in these songs was so amazing. How full his voice was in the happy ones as opposed to how breathy and raw it was in the sad songs. Well we know what our golden maknae can pull off. My favorites are definitely standing next to you, hate you and shot glass of tears. Please watch his 2nd Suchwita appearance, he talks more about the album. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

The director of the mv for Standing Next to You said the video was inspired by the Leonardo dicaprio movie "Romeo and juliet", with even the director of that movie confirming references to the film on his Instagram page

right? you can hear how hard he really worked on his pronunciation, it's amazing. Also after watching on the new Suchwita episode, hearing how fast he recorded the songs is even more impressive on top of practicing the pronunciation because he did it in such a short time frame.

This is exactly the same for me, I don't like most American Pop that's why BTS drew me in with their sound and lyrics. I was actually afraid I wasn't going to like most of the songs on JK's album but then he released Standing Next To You and I'm obsessed with that song. Not everybody is gonna vibe with every song and that's okay we all are different but I will say I'm thrilled to have SNTY even if it's the only song I like which it's still early yet for me, I need to listen more but his voice is so lovely that things grow on you like Shot Glass of Tears is moving up for me too.

My favorites were shot glass, hate you and yes or no. The singles are ok standing next to you is the better of the singles but showcases Jungkook talents the best. I do not care for the ones with the DJ s it is not my style I don't like the electronic beats and voice changes. It could not have been easy for him to do a full English album when he is not fluent in it.

I loved hearing your thoughts and you really don't have to worry about voicing your opinions! we know you love the guys and you not loving a song has no hidden meaning besides you not loving a song lol for me too it's definitely Jungkook that makes the album! Like these are all objectively well produced catchy songs but I wouldn't care about them even half as much if someone else sung it. Obviously no one could have made them sound quite like Jungkook but like american/english pop gets played a lot here on the radio and what not and it's a genre I'm often tired of because it's everywhere and a reason why I fell in love with bts was because their music sounded so fresh and different to me. anyway tldr: I feel you a lot on your thoughts and opinions and I still LOVE what JK did here as an artist and the songs definitely grow on you and get stuck in your head all the time lol Yes or No and Hate You are my fav b-sides but Somebody and Shot Glass of Tears are climbing up too!

I'm really enjoying JK's album! I've heard him say he wanted to show range and variety on it and I think he definitely succeeded! His vocal delivery is so strong. So far my faves are Standing Next To You, Yes or No, and Hate You. But absolutely no skips like you said.

I can totally hear Ed Sheeran

Sir Austin

Yes or No was co-written by Ed Sheeran, so you can totally hear his styling throughout the song lol My favs are Standing Next to You and Shot Glass Full of Tears

I really love this album. My top three is "Hate You", "Standing Next to You", and "Shot Glass of Tears" but it's a no skip album for me. I lol when you said "Well at least you didn't pee everywhere!!" Loved your reaction as always Austin!!

Flip9880

Yes 😭 I don't like that song πŸ˜‚

Sir Austin

Yes or no reminds me of Crush by David Archuleta if you remember that song lol

Jackie

LOL! I know from personal experience that is definitely worse. LMAOOO!

Sir Austin

Ok... now I'm at "Too sad to dance" when you, in your Austin way, just quietly say "Well, at least you didn't pee everywhere" LOL I'm dead!

HeatherW

So i'm up to the point where you're listening to "Somebody" and the official lyrics say "Oh I hoped you'd find somebody, hoped you'd find somebody", not "hope to find somebody". I guess Genius doesn't bother checking in with the published lyrics...

HeatherW

Among the b sides, Hate You is my fave. love the album. definitely there's no skip songs just like you said. thanks for the reaction.

The album from start to finish in order of tracks is telling a story of a relationship from being infatuated to breaking up.
