You’re SO REAL for this comment.

Im so late catching up with these lol but thank you for the upload!! Suga is so endearing and thoughtful in everything he does, I also got emotional going through this <3 Also: The "J-Hope flower pillow" at Steve Aoki's house is actually a Takashi Murakami piece, J-Hope is a long time fan it's synonymous with him now! He is also a fan of the artist Kaws, who did his Jack in the Box album art - I love his taste and just thought I'd share since you brought it up in the video :)

crispy lil worm

I second that! The version with Jin and JK is my favorite hands-down. They sound gorgeous & theres just something that hits me different having his members sing on an agust d track with him.

I had heard about Mr. Sakamoto's passing before seeing the doc so I definitely had tears during that part. I'm so glad Yoongi had the chance to meet with him. And to know that Mr. Sakamoto's last known work was playing on Yoongi's song I'm sure means so much to him. Always fun watching with you!💜

Rock Star Yoongi....I have stars in my eyes from the Amygdala and Snooze performances!!!!!!

I really enjoy Halsey, musically, aesthetically, and as a human being in general. She writes a lot of really good songs on each of her albums. She worked with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails on her last album, 'If I Can't Have Love I Want Power"which was such a collaboratively delicious surprise :) She does some heavy hitting breakup songs, much to the chagrin of her ex, I'm sure. "You Should Be Sad" has quite the eye-candy video, with a visual tribute to Shania Twain (who also got savagely cheated on by her husband). She also did a song called "Not Afraid Anymore" that was back on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack in 2017 that I've played on repeat a few times, when that particular headspace overtakes me...

Austin, if you have time, you should watch Suchwita ep.9 (Namjoon as the host 😁). You will understand more about why he creates music under Agust D name and not under Suga. Also, there's more story about yoongi creating D-Day that the documentary doesn't cover. Oh, did u notice the place where they did the song camp with other producers?? It's the same main house they use in In The Soop 2 😁

Army Nia

Honestly I did not know Ryuichi Sakamoto but that moment had me bawling!!! Its so heartfelt. And if you want to find that Idol MMA poster, here it is https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/bts-bts-idol-sideshow-collectibles-501056US?var=501056US I just loved this documentary so much and it had me so emotional. Snooze and Amygdala are my favourites

Farhana

Bts members (yoongi, hobi, jimin) have been using bi flag color lately, and army be like "do u guys want to say something to us?" 😁 also, "merry christmas, mr lawrence" is an old queer movie starring david bowie, and the ost music was arranged by the late mr ryuichi sakamoto. Yoongi loves sakamoto's music.

Army Nia

It was mentioned a while back when it happened and on suchwita the one namjoon. Yoongi is the first artist on spotify to have been streamed more than hundred million times under three stage names SUGA , BTS and AGUST D . I've been waiting for bts to see Steve's studio. I really wanted them to see it when they first met but it didn't work out. I just knew they would have loved it the trampoline and studio stuff he had.

JoY

If you react to So Far Away, PLEASE include the version he did with just him, JK and Jin....It's the ONLY version I listen to. It's absolutely stunning.

Mary Leona Weaver

Suga's interlude is a little jewel 🌼

Ive been watching you for a very long time, starting with you during the beginning of your EXO days (exo-l for life) and then I started getting into BTS around the same time that you did. I'm so happy to have finally reached a point in my life where I can afford to subscribe to your Patreon. You're so nice for doing $2/month subscriptions, and I'm so grateful for all of your reactions. Thank you for all that you do. I can't wait to watch your Jinnys Kitchen episodes so I can feel like I have someone watching with me <3 Borahae

Rebecca Sorel

ooo Yes Slideshow Collectables. They have some lovely bts art.

roguechevelle

BTW... you can buy those prints from a site called Sideshow. I have 2 of them.

In the part during the songwriting camp, you commented that even the people working with Yoongi are handsome. That was El Capitxn (real name Jang Yijeong), who has co-written and produced a lot of Agust D songs, including on the new album. He used to be an idol so it's not surprising he's good looking 😄 (interesting fact: he's also done a duet with IU!)

Mel

I have 3 ult groups (i have all their musics/songs in my playlists and listen to all of their works) : - my number 1 : BTS - my babies TXT - and The Rose and all Woosung solo activities So obviously when I saw that Suga made a song with Woosung (my fav “Korean” voice with Jimin and Dean), I was already ready to love that song. After listening to it and reading the lyrics, it’s officially in my top3 of D-Day album (Life goes on and Amygdala)

Austin on Disney plus go to where you pick the english subs and on the upper right you will see the gear icon. You can change the size and the font I hope that helps . I saw caitlin benson find out where it was as well .😂

JoY

Sir Austin...love your reactions and your rants. D-Day is great. He's matured and it shows. Haegeum in the live was really cool because another reactor pointed out that that it's modern vs. old as on 1 side, there's the traditional instruments like the Haegeum etc.

Nellie Z

Oh, I cried a lot during the Ryuichi Sakamoto part and then hearing Snooze after. It made me so emotional even though I also didn't really know Mr. Sakamoto. It was just the mutual respect you could see between him and Yoongi, their conversation, and then also knowing Mr. Sakamoto had recently passed away. Such a beautiful part of the doc!

EKMontie

LMM by hwasa is my fav song of her

Ailaudy93

The clip you were confused by when he's talking about Amygdala in a meeting - it's him telling the BigHit team his plans for the album and what they need to prepare for him. Suga storyboarded the MVs himself - so he had to give them the outlines of what he wanted, what the themes were, etc, so that they could prepare MV directors/costumes/locations/promos etc for him.

Alix Drifty

It's interesting you picking up on the way he was writing lyrics with a pen onto his ipad - traditionally, Suga prefers writing lyrics physically, with a pen and a yellow legal pad. Most of his lyrics are written that way. I think he only switches to the ipad when he's traveling to cut down on the weight of notebooks in his luggage.

I love Yoongi so much. Between Snooze where he just wants to comfort his juniors in the industry, to Haegeum where he calls out the ridiculous standards Idols must live up to, I'm just happy that BTS were the ones to have this kind of success because having them be satisfied with the status quo would have been a waste.

HeatherW

The bisexual colors were ever present throughout elements of the tour (I was able to go to the first 2 nights!) The wristbands colors for the first three days were pink, purple, blue (in that order!) and even the lighting present before the show was exactly that shade also - Yoongi ain't subtle lol :)

Seth S

I love seeing that cute clip of his wife taking a picture with jin.😂

JoY

yay :) I've been waiting to watch this with you!

His Mom was born in Korea, but during the War... her Dad was an African American Soldier and her Mom Korean. She got adopted by an American Family, she lived in an orphanage like a lot of Kids during the War.

AstronautInTHEboX

Anderson's biological Mom is half black and Korean and was born during the War in Korea, her Dad was an American Soldier, but she grew up in an Orphanage, until she was adopted by an African American Family in the US. His last Name is actually Park, but they misspelled his Mother's Name when she got adopted post-war. His Parents also got arrested, really recommend reading up about his Life. His Family story is heartbreaking but really inspiring. He is addressing his Family's History in his Music, he snatched all the R&B and Hip Hop Grammys the past 5 years. His Son and Wife are ARMY, his Wife is Jin biases.

AstronautInTHEboX

Hi Austin, Thank you for your reaction; it is always a pleasure watching you. At the part where he is pitching his album, I wouldn’t say pitching per say, more like he now has his a solid base and idea for his album, so he’s letting the company know of his plans so they can start to prep a roll out and provide him with producers, directors, and a PR team to help with his release. I also definitely cried at Ryuichi Sakamoto’s part as well as when I heard WOOSUNG sing; “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” is a song that has always lingered in my heart the very first time I heard it, so seeing Yoongi play it for Mr. Sakamoto and then Mr. Sakamoto perform it for Yoongi, left me in tears. “Snooze” will definitely live as the song that defines this album for me. It’s a beautifully captured documentary that gives insight, meaning and context to Yoongi’s life and perspective relayed on “D-Day.” I feel grateful that this exists, and to him for willing to share this with us.

ark

6:50 lol i'm 25 BUT my back hurts like im 80 :(((

Tetebread

The entire meeting between Yoongi and Mr. Sakamoto was beautiful too, I’m so happy they got a chance to meet and work together, especially with how much Yoongi was inspired by him. He seems like he was such a genuine person. Snooze is my favourite track on the album for sure.

This was an amazing documentary. Suga also visited Chris Martin's house but it wasn't included in the documentary as he maybe wanted to keep things off camera or private (unless they are releasing it later for other reasons we aren't aware of). Even though I don't know much of Halsey's music, I have a huge amount of respect for her. She met the guys back in 2017 and genuinely wanted to work with them then when at the time most of the western industry was looking at them like a fluke or fade that will be gone in a blink of an eye or treating them like the foreigners/outsiders. Still going on today but it's people like Halsey, Chris Martin, Steve Aoki and also now Anderson Paak that treat them like human beings instead of something alien. And I really love the fact that Halsey asked Suga to do a song on her album and called it Suga's Interlude (I absolutely love that song). I remember seeing a video clip when she was asking Suga to work with her while they were all visiting with her and his look of surprise like "me? really?" and he said something like "but I can't rap in English" so she said "Do it in Korean". She even mentioned listening to his solo songs and solo work thinking he was the right fit for the album. I think he was expecting her to pick one of the vocalist or RM because he's talked the most with her even keeping in touch via text.

roguechevelle

Yes so happy you got to see this! It was amazing seeing him have so much fun with US musicians, you can really tell how much his friends appreciate and respect him. He actually featured on Halsey’s 2019 album “Manic” - which is an album I’d recommend. Halsey is openly bisexual, and also speaks honestly about her bipolar disorder and struggles, which is why she was drawn to Suga’s music as well since they could relate to each other in some sense. (Speaking of bisexual, it’s not our business like you said, but he does love the colour scheme: he used it a lot in his concert lighting and concert wristbands, which made me happy.) Yes Anderson .Paak has a korean grandparent I believe? And his wife is Korean, so he’s not fully fluent but does understand a lot of the language.

CC

I wanted to give him a hug when he said he missed his mom 😭🫂
