Also I think the hypocrisy is interesting as many who criticize idols for minor things sometimes do the same things themselves. Unfortunately I think it has a lot to do with how idols began or were presented by founding kpop companies as perfect beings or boyfriend/girlfriend material so to speak. I'm glad someone with such a large platform like Suga & bts are trying to change things. Suga has talked about seeing junior artists struggles and wanting to be of help to them.

I didn't take the door as a symbol for him unaliving himself, but rather a pathway to overcoming his trauma. Like, while he's in that room he's in an endless feedback loop of his past, but if he goes through the door he can free himself and move past it. I don't know if you caught it, but there's a line about him learning during his work schedule about his father's liver cancer... I think there's a high possibility of this news being why he left Malta early during BV season 3. From what I can tell, the path goes like this: Amygdala Yoongi who is trapped in the room is the origin. He gives himself that scar which represents his trauma. That Yoongi grows to be King Agust D in Daechwita (a representation of the angry 2016 version of himself) who is ultimately killed by the Boss Agust D (the 2020 Yoongi who has grown and become less angry), but that Agust D grows to be the corrupt detective Agust D who is then stopped by the thief Agust D who represents current Yoongi (not a murderer or a thief but maybe more free from his anger and trauma and is generally living life on his own terms. You can kind of see this path from the scar too. You can see the scar is progressively more healed as you go through those different characters until there is no scar at all on thief Yoongi. Maybe others will have a different take, but that's mine.

It's probably my favorite song from the album and I knew the video would be emotional for me but I didn't expect it to affect me as hard as it did. Yoongi has always been good at raw honesty and expressing his emotions in a way that I find incredibly relatable.

Im so honored to be able to see Yoongi's growth and vulnerabilities and so grateful that he's trusting us by sharing his story.

2023-04-30 09:31:43 +0000 UTCSuch a good morning waking up to your reaction :) Yoongi has many songs that helped me through hard times but Amygdala is my all time favourite AgustD song as someone who has struggled with mental health since over 10 years. Yoongi did such a great job on the MV and it's so brave of him to share his story with us and I hope we can all heal together.

2023-04-30 07:31:02 +0000 UTCSuper excited for this. I cried the first time I heard Amygdala and that was before the mv came out, it's probably my favorite on the album though I like the whole album. I think everyone might interpret his trilogy differently but I see Amygdala as the birth of Agust D a persona he created, born on Yoongi's past trauma and a way to express his anger and pain thru music kinda compartmentalizing in a way as it's things he didn't think he could say as an "idol". I'm not sure with the big hit pill bottles but the company has psychologist they send the members to as they take mental health serious so maybe it's a nod to that not sure. Namjoon has talked about the therapy in a vlive before. And Bang Pd has mentioned the company has an emotional support team on staff. I think Yoongi is very brave and very strong just looking at what he is doing confronting his own traumas head on to heal himself. Not a lot of people are willing to because it's so hard. And he thinks about how his stories can help others struggling.

And Suga keeps killing the evil AgustD to stop him from doing something much worse but that's not the only reason for the killings (you might understand this after you watch the amygdala mv) lastly, you can see at the end of the video that he walks in with the officer's black coat.
