Great reaction. One of my favorite movies of recent years. 10/10 Creative. Relevant. Beautiful. Agree that the kid did good acting. The movie is well acted. Scarlett Johansson nailed it. The final scene is awesome. Hitler Youth was a big deal. You may remember early in Saving Private Ryan when Fish (the Jewish American soldier) found a Hitler Youth knife and starting sobbing. I first read a book about Hitler when I was 10 years old. "F*ck off Hitler"

2024-12-02 05:27:47 +0000 UTCMy theory for this is that Captain K (being as he was closeted gay) originally recruited Jojo’s parents, helped the dad desert to help the resistance, then kept his position to be able to give them intel form inside. He knew about Elsa, and when he shows up with Rosy’s bike, it’s in an effort to collect Jojo and Elsa to get them out of the house, but he’s too late. That’s why he lets the papers slide, and tells Elsa to get a different picture and that she looks like a ghost, because she looks nothing like Inge. Then of course he sacrificed himself at the end to save Jojo, knowing it would get him killed.
