Immersive Cinematics - The Marmite of VR
Added 2022-10-05 20:09:28 +0000 UTCYou lovely patrons will be getting more videos and details on the upcoming JKQuest Early Access release very soon. An aspect that we wanted to highlight, since its not going to make the 1st EA release, are immersive cinematics.
Now we know that some people love or hate these and many a passionate debate has been tweeted, so they will be configurable in the final release. This video shows both versions. The first crawling titles are the pre-rendered cinematics, which appear on a fixed-space big screen. When immersive cinematics are turned off, it is also how in-game rendered cut-scenes will show.
When Immersive Cutscenes are on you will be transported to a virtual set complete with a B-Movie feel, where you can look all around as the scene is acted. More immersive and often funny, the scenes play out around you, so you can watch the action or just stare at people's bums. We are working hard on making these as less-nausea inducing as possible and you can look forward to them (or look forward to turning them off) in an Early Access release soon.
