2025-08-01 22:55:23 +0000 UTCI think that the way Lincoln frames their situation and what led them to running away is possibly the most healthy thing for him. Obviously, any normal family would not approve of Lynn and Lincoln’s relationship, but that does not mean in the 17 and 15 years she and he lived with them, respectively, were all bad. I know we don’t get to see the family in this chapter but I do hope that if they are in the future we get to see if their opinions have changed on Lynn and Lincoln’s relationship, or at least would rather have them back then not at all. I’d like to believe that the description of Lynn’s “family” is the majority of what Lincoln thinks about when he remembers them and that deep down he may believe that even though they were not able to accept their relationship they still love them and probably just wants him and Lynn in their lives again no matter how difficult it may be to accept their choice.

He's not letting on that they're siblings but he's giving enough for them to know that they can't be with their family so that their friends will keep quiet for them. Because I'm not sure 'hate' is the word I'd use. They're upset, and they'd probably give anything to know that he and Lynn are okay. It was cool to use season 8 in this.

I thought it would be easy to discern how he compartmentalized his family in two, but since it wasn't spelled out, I was afraid it might go over some people's head. Thank you for bringing it up.

2025-08-01 03:00:58 +0000 UTCIt’s not always pleasant reopening old wounds, but that doesn’t mean those wounds are all bad. As indicated in the European road trip, the family had loads of fun together, getting into many misadventures along the way. But it was clever of Lincoln to put this particular spin on his reminiscing. And it was also a clever way to insert the rest of the Loud family members, even if they don’t make a physical appearance in this particular volume. Even if Lincoln’s “separate” family didn’t support the idea of him and Lynn being together—or more likely, the bad qualities of the Loud house that drove him and Lynn away from it—that doesn’t mean Lincoln thinks badly of them. Because when he describes Lynn’s “separate” family, those are the good attributes of the Loud house that Lincoln remembers fondly. And in times like this, you have to hold on to those memorable pieces. It's just like the sign states in the last panel—even though Lincoln may be hurting inside about these events, he is still keeping calm and holding on to those good memories with tender, loving care.

( 1 Minute Later ) Woooooooooooooooowwwwwww, that was just...( Sniffing )... sorry I just get so emotional. You know, seeing Lincoln explaining his past to his new friends sure reminds me of a classic Disney movie that I know of... ( Whispering ) It's THE LION KING, by the way. But, even though Lincoln didn't tell his friends all about his past, I have a feeling that at some point of time, he will have to tell them the truth. Just like a certain Lion Prince I know. Gotta admit, Underrated Hero, this page really knows how to show how Lincoln is really feeling on the inside of himself. I hope Lynn Jr. and Lincoln will be able to put the past behind them and move on so they can have a future together. But in the meantime, while I wait for that to happen... But they never accepted their relationship, and this was the only way for them to be together, no matter how much it hurt them to abandon their family.
