Holes (2003) with Shia LaBeouf is a good family movie don’t get me wrong. But at the same time, it’s a type of movie you’d watch if you’re bored and don’t have nothing else going on in your spare time.

Holes was adapted from a book. There’s 1 Holes book therefore 1 Holes movie. Years later there was a spin off book written, but it’s an entirely different setting than Holes.

Pat is not the only reason I like the og, buddy. I do like the story as well, even though the romance aspect is messed up in the sequel. I prefer the characters themselves that are in that one. Daniel, Miyagi, hell even Johnny. Miyagi's backstory is also just so heartbreaking to me, and it gives him greater depth. I prefer the characters themselves in the original. It's not pure nostalgia, cause it's kind of hard to have nostalgia for an era you were never born in(I was born in the early 2000s, not the '80s). I've also been in Daniels shoes, not Dre's. I can see how the stakes are raised in Dre's story, but damn...I kinda don't care. If it isn't necessary, then begone with the remakes. And buddy, don't make assumptions about me. I love the overall story of OG Karate Kid. Me enjoying a particular aspect(Miyagi) does not mean it's my only reason. The way the characters act also just feels...REAL. The way Miyagi acts when he's drunk in that one moment...I feel that. Everytime.

So pat morita is the only reason you like karate kid 1984 not because of the story or anything else, I’ve watched both films and still love the 2010 version of karate kid because Jackie Chan isn’t trying to be pat morita at all, he’s bringing his own version of Mr Han while still not ruining the original Version of the film, Jackie Chan is just of good an actor as pat morita was so he brings his Own style to Mr Han while also not ruining the 1984 version, they’re both also very different films aswell, the 2010 version has Jaden smith move to a different country rather than state so that brings a whole new take on the movie where the he’s basically a foreigner in a whole different country so the culture is very different compared to the states

And with the Disney ones, that's exactly the problem. But I still don't like Karate Kid 2010. I don't think I ever will. It's very existence once again seems pointless. I also just love Pat Moya too much to care about the remake. And honestly, I didn't even know that about Scarface. But anyway, my entire point is that, while subscribed to these two, I've seen quite a bit of blatant disrespect to older media, and I can't stand it. I'm not even old myself, but I still recognize that older media deserves better than that. Not all of it is great, but much of it is better than new stuff. Too many new things rely WAY too much on cgi, when older stuff makes more use of practical effects. It's not always great, but in films like The Thing, it's much better than cgi. Some of these newage actors aren't that great either.

The jumanji one I do agree, the karate kid 2010 film I don’t because I watched both and they’re both very good on their own, the 2010 version doesn’t ruin the 1984 version, both are good standalone films, the remake stands on its own without ruining the original version, also remakes have always been a thing in Hollywood, the 1983 Scarface is a remake from the original Scarface that came out in the 1940s, so remakes of films can work as long as they stand on their own, the Disney live action remakes don’t really count because it’s basically a shot for shot the same movie

That may be true, but that's not what I was saying. The og Jumanji and Karate Kid are actually good, but the remakes are not. The remakes are soulless cash grabs, while the og had actual heart to them. And thes two deserve to see movies like THAT, rather than the ones that exist only for money. Case in point: Practically every Disney remake.

I like older movies, but there are some older movies that don’t hold up aswell or just not good, I was watching the Christoper reeves Superman from the 70s and I was hyped to watch it because of it being like the first big superhero movie, but I found it really boring and not interesting to watch and it took me like a week to finish it because I felt falling asleep, a bad movie is a bad movie regardless of how old it is

Pretty much. Mr. Miyagi was so good in the og. It's just not the same without him. I don't see the point in remaking a film that clearly didn't need it. Same goes with Jumanji. I don't hate The Rock, but he is NOT a good actor. God bless Robin Williams. I'm tired of people disrespecting old films, as if them being old makes them bad or something.

Loved their 2010 Karate Kid reaction, but it makes no sense that it won a poll before the original did.
