I hate what they did with Foggy. I’m not saying they’re not allowed to kill him off; this just wasn’t earned. Marvel Studios inherited this from Netflix and are trying to make sweeping changes to make their “own thing” but they had nothing to do with building these characters across those three (mostly) amazing seasons. It’d be one thing if this was a choice that fit the story the original team was trying to tell, but in this case, it’s just Feige stoking his ego

I'm pretty enthusiastic about this show. I do wish they'd lose the CGI and stick with practical effects and fight choreography. Unless you've got a budget and a CGI team on a par with the likes of the original Jurassic Park, it's just a thousand percent better if there are actual people doing all those things. I was shocked by Foggy's death, but I think it's going to be motivation for the rest of the show, setting up the inner conflict between Matt the lawyer and Daredevil. One thing I note, however, is Bull's Eye was paralyzed and being experimented on at the end of the Netflix show. It makes me think that he's been souped (suped?) up somehow, and that's why he was able to survive that fall. Whatever direction the show goes though, this first episode definitely shows that it's being created by people who understand and appreciate the source material and characters. I also enjoyed the continuity of bringing back cast and locations from the Netflix series, and even the callback to Maya (I refuse to call her Echo) shooting Fisk in the face in the Hawkeye series. I'm feeling a Punisher appearance coming. What I'm really wondering about is whether we might get a Spider-Man cameo since Matt was in No Way Home and he's usually pals with Spidey in the comics.

speaking of born again comic most of that storyline was adapted in season 3 so i was surprised at first that they called this new show born again when they’ve already told that story but the title does kinda make sense since it’s a new show

I really like how cinematic and experimental this show is starting off visually but that fight scene was pretty bad, from the bad cgi to not seeing much of the fight because of the distance and perspective as well as the smoke conveniently hiding the fight even more. it does get a little better as the fight went on. also, i wasn't expecting this much bloodiness and darkness coming from disney, hopefully they stick to that.

I know that but they handled it kind of sloppily. Skipping one year just to avoid any scenes of development really rubbed me the wrong way. But apparently a bunch of news outlets are reporting they are coming back for season 2. So I guess something is happening.

The original creatives didn’t even have them written in the show originally, when the strike ended, they had to reshoot the scenes that had foggy and Karen included within the story, they had already shot 6 episodes by the time the strike happened, so they had to add in sequences when they came back to finish the season off

Deborah Ann Woll who plays karen was available but they decided not to put her in the whole show it looks like so now shes distanced from Matt in the show and lives in san francisco. Same with Elden Hanson who plays foggy. Its a weird bait and switch, and I don’t like their replacements.

Hey guys, my advice going forward is to just disassociate yourself from the Netflix version and go into this one with a fresh perspective because trying to compare shows just won’t help you’re viewing experience, that’s what I did and I ended up really liking it at the end, I knew it was going to be different going in, as long as it had the same tone as the Netflix show it was all good with me

for what’s it’s worth… originally Foggy & Karen we’re gonna die off screen so atleast they decided to show us Foggy’s death & even Fisk’s wife was gonna get re-casted before the show got a whole reboot —— also Matt’s investigator isn’t the cop from the netflix series, that’s a whole new character so hopefully we get to see the actual officer in a upcoming episode (Brett Mahogany)

Most of the episodes we’re already shot pre strike, they were 6 episodes in before the strike happened and then they overhauled the show after that , so some of the scenes were refilmed, im not sure which episodes were already filmed before the overhaule

Funny you say that because most is the stunts are actually practical. You can see 90% of those stunts behind the scenes footage. There’s only a couple of choppy moments but that’s it, it’s not that bad.

What makes it a bit worse is that the original draft for the show involved Matt getting by without Foggy and Karen because they would’ve been killed off-screen. After they fired the original staff and brought them both back, I thought they would stick around for a good part of the show and they wouldn’t get killed off-screen early. 23:39 43:37 Since you guys didn’t watch Echo, I’ll give you the short version. Remember when Maya Lopez shot Fisk in the eye? She intended to kill him after what he did to her father, but little did she know that he survived. He spent five months in a coma, and when he woke up he went to Maya’s hometown Tamaha, Oklahoma. He tried to recruit her into his criminal empire again, but by then she didn’t want anything to do with her. After Maya rejected his offer, he kidnapped her cousin and grandma and intended to kill them in front of her to have her suffer. She managed to save them using her ancestors’s abilities. In the process, she used her late mother’s healing gift to heal Fisk’s eye and mental childhood trauma. Maya let Fisk go, and on his flight home he caught wind of the campaign for New York’s mayor.
