Even in the more typical kid movies there ars always sexual jokes clearly meant for an older audience, that goes over your head as a kid but you get as adult (or even a teenager). Also, when you really think about it, most Disney/Pixar animations are actually pretty dark and have a lot of mature themes. And I'm not just talking about the original fairy tales like The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Snow White etc. that are even darker. Most of them have at least one dead parent, sometimes both. Some pretty inappropriate/controversial things like Ariel swapping her voice with legs to marry a prince, Snow White living with 7 little dudes, Beauty and the Beast "Stockholm Syndrome", Cruella de Vil kidnapping and slaughtering puppies to make fur coats in 101 Dalmatians, Clayton's death scene in Tarzan (you only see the silhouette of him hanging but still pretty dark for Disney), Mother Gothel emotionally abusing Rapunzel in Tangled, and then of course planning to get married to someone you just met (as was joked about in Frozen) etc. But, ike I said, even these things you don't fully comprehend as a child.

I hear you but I don’t think you get how the voting works. It’s not the majority. It’s a more united minority voting animated movies. Which is cool. But more people would have voted for two other combined options than the one winner. So if everyone flips from Now you see me to the purge. Cars looses by at least 10%. Everyone only votes once I think it’s because monsters inc just won. The majority is not deciding the winner. They are giving us Harry Potter. So I’m cool. But numbers are misleading.

Wanting more variety is fair enough. But I am sick of people assuming that just because something is animated that it's ONLY for kids, similar to how it's ridiculous to assume that just because there is a child actor that plays one of the lead roles in a movie that must mean it's for kids (like all the horror movies with kids hello!). Also, being STRICTLY FOR KIDS is different than being aimed at a certain age group. Rom-coms are mostly aimed at women but are not STRICTLY FOR women or a certain age group. Same thing with men and action movies. Can you find a more mature animated movie than Cars? Probably. I haven't seen it personally. But that's another matter altogether. Clearly the majority likes watching them react to animations. Just because there are a few people complaining in the comments doesn't mean they're the majority.

You seem to forget, “General”: 1.) Shoshana didn’t watch a lot of tv growing up 2.) this is a variety channel 3.) just because something is animated it doesn’t mean it’s strictly for kids. She has seen a few animated movies like The Princess and the Frog, Moana, and Frozen, but she’s missed out on a lot of classics. That’s one of the reasons we have this channel. Not only is she catching up, but we also get to see her and Vince form their opinions and enjoy what we suggest. Now admittedly Cars isn’t my favorite among Pixar films, but there are definitely some good moments in it. Sooner or later, this was gonna win.
