The Walking Dead (Season 3 - Episode 15)

Comments

Yeah Rick cant read the comics so I don't think he knows that...

Kayden 21

Norman Reedus's acting steals the show in this for me.

Melody Netherton

Hell nah. That was the last good season before they started doing random shit

ReelPiscesPlays

Nah. It would be a cold day in hell before I feel bad for a racist, psychopath. He need to go for Daryl to get a real brother

ReelPiscesPlays

Rick going to a racist for help to turn Michonne pissed me off. Cause in the comics, he brutally rapes and beats her on the regular

ReelPiscesPlays

I like this take. I agree

Tia

41:56 when Daryl cries, the world cries

Adam Sterling

Shoshanna has the perfect half smile!

Adam Sterling

It was moreso a sacrifice for his brother, so he'd have a shot at surviving the war. Or even completely avoiding it if he'd gotten the Governor like he planned.

Zero

merle really sacrificed himself to not be the mvp of this episode🤣 rip

Devin Wilson

100% agree!

Nicholas Bogroff Ganssle

I totally agree, I hate the way they did Merle. I wish he would have lived longer.

Deanna Gonzalez

Season 5 is peak!!

Mrmadrid

As I always say, when Daryl cries we all cry

Lydia

fair take and yes he was a little bad before the apocalypse but i view life as life and no one “deserves” to die unless you a governor type

Reseigh

After killing all those innocent people it was the least he could do. I know he had a rough childhood, but I can only imagine how many people suffered in his presence. How many people he beat up because he was having a bad day or because they were of different race etc. he was probably a bad person pre-apocalypse and an even worse one during. The only sympathy I have is for Darryl.

Panashe Chibanda

this has to be sarcasm LOL, 8 was horrid

Sean

idk I enjoyed the later seasons more then the earlier seasons season seven 6 - 10 was my favourite

Jarrod

No lol

Gordon

merle sacrificed himself for a group that hated him

Reseigh

S8 was defs not peak lol, was the first major drop off in quality season

Ethan

Merle and Daryl are show originals

Dolphin Hour Archives

There's a very specific deleted scene involving Merle and Carol I love so much. IYKYK

Dolphin Hour Archives

He did do a 360 so its hard not to give it to him

Courtney

nah peak was season 8

Jarrod

S4 is wild and dark… s2 always my fav, but s4 really is peak TWD. Show was on top of the world back then

Cole

We are approaching peak TWD. I am so excited for you guys to experience it!

ShanB

ha! I noticed he shot him - did NOT notice he also ate him. whoops ..wrong crowd and all that.

ShanB

so glad i came across this comment i was thinking to say the same! only noticed on the rewatch with this episode. literally what happened when he met Tyrese's group @ the prison

ShanB

Nice take on this. A new and welcome one for me

ShanB

Oh my gosh what an episode 🔥🔥🔥 we are ready for the finale 🔥🔥

! RICK

Season 4-5 I should say

Z

Season 4 is the best in my opinion

Z

Season 3 is great, but I love season 4. Looking forward to you guys watching it and I’m so jealous of anyone going through their first watch of the show 😂

Michael Basinski

I have no idea how I waited a week between each episode when the show first released, because waiting two days for a new TWD episode to drop feels so dang long 😂

KD Willard

Yep great points

Drip Drop

Merle said "I can't go back" in the car because of what he did to Glen & Maggie, he knew no-one would ever change their perspective of him after what he did I think that was his turning point on letting Michonne leave

Odon

is it weird 4 Me to say I think Merle deserved MVP this ep? From hardass, to I'm my own boss to a broken man who just wAnted to do something right but through his own way. He in a sense atoned for his ways and tried to take initiative and to pay 4 his mistakes . Michonne second cause she was the catalyst to his change.

wonder777warrior

Finale is gonna be good,i can't wait!!

Ico

Get for that season finale. Just getting started

Jah (jakwiq) (Jah Quick)

Wish we had Merle around longer. Michael Rooker fit so well in twd universe!

Nathan Skye

MICHAEL ROOKER Is such a great actor!!! Yando and Merle.... praises for a lot of these people's performance

Brody Reeks

Also this might be an unpopular opinion but I never go the vibe that Merle changed. I viewed it more that he realized Daryl had changed. He kept seeing it talking to Daryl himself, his conversation with Michonne, he realized that his brother had outgrown him in a way thanks to the group. So he did what he could do; protect his brother in the end, or at least try his best to protect his brother.

Eric W.

Merle this the only an last episode he could get MVP . Have to give it to him . He took out a lot of the governors best shooters which will help out Rick group.

Tjbosslyfe

I say we got about 3 weeks until shit really pops off 🥲S4 about to be crazy

Tre

It's crazy. Cause while I felt bad for Daryl all I could think was "Take comfort Merle Daryl found a better family."

Eric W.

Yes I love season 4 and first half of five are my favourite!!

Perfection Akinwande

I gotta give mvp of the episode to Merl. He killed half of the govenors main dudes by himself. As messed up as it is, he saw that the best thing he could do for the group and his brother was be a soldier. Him not giving up Michonne (a person of color too) is as good of growth as a person like him can have. Rick changed his mind and took accountability, but Merl releasing michonne was also him taking accountability and changing his mind.

jblakk

Lol great reaction and I would give Merle MVP but Rick is a great choice bc he showed he’s not like the Governor at all and is willing to let everyone vote instead of deciding, true leader right there. Merle is easily one of the best characters in S3 right below the Governor imo.

JonSnow21

Yea I agree that they’re all great but I definitely agree with this guy that Rick , Shane and The Governor gave the best performances in the entire show .

JonSnow21

MVP for me might be Merle. I think you guys nailed his character in your discussion. He started to change and get vulnerable, and he couldn't live with that so he decided to go on a suicide mission. Michonne is a close second because she actually managed to get inside his head. Lots of great stuff with Rick too. You can see the inner turmoil, him constantly questioning if he's making the right decisions in hope that it'll make him stop seeing Lori.

Joshua Markham

Merle went out with a bang , he ended up changing in the end . Also this was his last episode as well due to amc not paying him enough during that time so he left. I think this is when after he got an offer from Marvel or by James Gunn to play Yondu in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 1 . Michael rookers character arcs is one of the best & the saddest in the walking dead & also in guardians of the galaxy’s .

Alex Ramirez

i am NOT ready for next episode😭😭

charlie

Rick is 100% the MVP this episode especially when you know what happens the rest of the show, and the significance of his speech this episode to his overall leadership.

Kristoffer Smedegaard

Coming up on my favourite season 🤗🔥

Xavier Pinto

Merle finally became a member of the group in the end. R.i.p

james moore

Merle tried to redeem himself and it was good enough for me he tried to do the right thing in the end and I love that

Kolby Owens

norman was just too good not to be part of the show they made his character just for him!

charlie

I kinda agree, I feel their relationship is more familial than romantic, but I don't think I'd say parental.

Lee

This episode is easily one of my favorite moments of Rick's leadership. Watching his leadership evolve is truly such an interesting and fun journey. Also was happy to see Glenn and Maggie get married, that was very sweet.

Lee

Rip Merle he and Daryl deserved so much more

Simon

Great film, Rooker is a phenomenal actor. That was his first role too, crazy. I think Melissa, Norman, Lennie James and plenty more actors on the show are just as talented though and give stellar performances, Melissa and Norman got a lot more to chew on and their characters developed a lot. Rick, Shane and Governor aren’t the only ones that delivered truly incredible performances on his level, imo. I hear you, and I think Rooker is the greatest actor to be on the show but the entire main cast are all stellar.

Lewis

Thats crazy, is Daryl in the comics? Or did they make his character up aswell?

Ellie

Is that how merle died in the comics? And did he die this early on in the comics?

Ellie

Idk if YALL noticed this, it’s not explained at all you kinda just have to peep, Lori only shows up when Rick is making the wrong decisions, kinda tryna tell him no don’t do this but he doesn’t know what seeing her means so he just goes crazier because he thinks he’s seeing ghost

Simon

Merl I mean. Not merlin. This stupid auto correct.

Zachary Chapman

Merlin is played by micheal rooker. Iconic actor. He's levels above a the rest of the B class actors on the show. Aside from shane, rick and, the governor actors. But micheal might take the cake. Check out his 1986 film henry portrait of a serial killer l. He plays a total pycho.

Zachary Chapman

Completely agree it’s a combination of everything that makes this show so damn great🔥

Simon

Yesss🔥

Simon

i like to forget about these as well lol, cuz then you can come back and binge some episode reactions

Darnel wood

Michael Rooker is a legend!!!

Mark McNenney

God damn I've seen this episode several times over and I have never noticed that, I just thought it was some random dude

Bunnarchist

Im pretty sure at this point is where the hashtag, If Daryl dies, we riot came about. At this point of season 3, going into season 4, many TWD fans became obsessed with the rough badass character of Daryl, to see him off in any way would upset SO many. Still cannot express how awesome it is to be a part of this community for TWD reactions. Its getting good, and promise, theres more coming to make it better!

Alex Fox

That was his big brother 😭😭😭 such an amazing acting moment showing how Daryl’s inner child cowered away for a split second before he pushed him away

Gloria Contreras

i aint beggin . same lines he said in tht 3rd episode from season 1

NorthhSZN

merle was trapped by demons man .

NorthhSZN

im both ways . we coulda got a extra season of merle but also this works as well .. idont read much of the comics , but daryl has so much built up love and hate for merle , he just wanted tht back

NorthhSZN

it’s funny knowing Daryl auditioned for Merl so his crying at his Alternate Universe if he got that role lowkey😅

Demon Rick

Daryl crying makes me cry every time Omg 🥺

Rylee

Seeing Daryl cry gets everyone to cry

Kwisatz Haderach

Omg This episode is so heartbreaking 😭😭

Bruna Teixeira

Oh I didn’t even think about that tbh, it just looked like it because of Daryl’s upbringing and he confides in carol a lot

Theo Sebuliba

Daryl is very boyish so I can see why you might interpret it that way, but Carol is literally only three years older than him and they joke about messing around in 3x1 so I don’t think that’s the case. I see them as platonic soulmates and best friends.

Lewis

MVP gotta be Merle for me

Adam Beiter

Eh I think carol and Daryl realtionship is more parental than romantic, carol is a mom and sees that he needs a motherly figure considering he was abused by his dad as a kid, so i think it’s more of a parental relationship than romantic

Theo Sebuliba

Michonne had some S-Tier Talk No Jutsu.....iykyk

Kay

Please more episodes!!

Nick Degraw

I always had a lot of empathy for Merle. One of the more realistic characters in the show trying to navigate 2 sides of himself and where he fits in. He redeemed himself in the end

Ella

We need more TWD EPS … I’ll be back in a year 😂

LethalBeam

S/O Merle! The best thing he ever did in his life was the last thing. All to protect his brother and the people he calls family. I also love Daryl’s line to him “You can’t do things without people anymore man.” Once again showing Daryl’s growth. He realized that he can’t be who he used to be. He can’t be a lone wolf in a world like this, everything’s about people. He lost his old family but found his new one. Merle realized that, he realized how much these people mean to Daryl. So he did everything he could to protect them in the end.

Marco

Don't know if you guys caught it but when Merle tried to shoot The Governor and that guy walked in front of the shot, that was Ben. He was the kid from Tyreese's group, he was Allen's son (the guy you don't like). Also he was the one that Merle was eating when Daryl found him after he'd turned.

lewis mcrae

Merle made me laugh so much throughout season 3, RIP my guy

crazymisscarly

R.I.P. merle. I guess he was a late bloomer as carol said in the end ❤️ did y’all catch the guy that he shot when he was aiming for the governor was the son from the group with Sasha and tyreese

Sherry Bandito

RIP Merle. He had so much potential as a character i think. Also Merle for sure was the MVP this episode. He took out almost all of the Governor's men who could actually handle a gun. There wasn't that many from Woodbury that could handle a gun, as most don't really have any experience. Merle took out about 8 of the ones that that had fighting experience. Leaving the Governor with almost only inexperienced people left, who just lived their comfortable lives in woodbury. What he did was huge for the Ricks group, giving them an actual fighting chance. MVP Merle for once

Vince Masuka

merle has to be the MVP for me, the growth and discussions he had with everyone during the episode was well done, he’s shown that everyone’s doing the same things he did but still belittling him for his actions. he all around was just great this episode

i love you

For me, Merle is definitely the MVP of this episode, dude went on a suicide mission and took out like 8 of the Governor’s men to give Rick’s group a fighting chance!

Henry Lemoine

Great episode. I personally loved Merle’s character development.

Aarron Denton

Does “sit back, relax” really work for this show 😭😭

Kale

So true 💯

Josip Buretić

Can't wait for your reaction to the next episode! And then the next 3 seasons have so many epic moments, so many episodes that I can't wait for your reactions to! 🔥 R.I.P. Merle

Michael Mitchell

RIP MERLE. One of the most entertaining and fun characters hands down. It sucks that he sacrificed himself right when he was starting to change and do what’s better for the group and Daryl. He made the right decision just not the right way

brayloom

🙏 What did joker say, in people’s dying moments you get their true self, everyone was right cares more about Daryl and group Than any selfish need

Demon Rick

RIP Merle. A very complicated character who in the end went out on his terms and didn’t give up Michonne. And Michonne imo was surprised he actually let her go.

Jihad Lee

merle 🧟

JWJ

Rest in peace merle he was a tough bitch in season one everyone hated him tbh then he joined the group again and helped he died for a group who didn't care about him at first merles a real one and always loved daryl

Psycho Rick

RIP Merle. They did Daryl dirty. He had his brother back for like a week in their time
