The terrifier fits the definition of a "scary" movie. It just isn't scary for me. SAW is scarier than this movie by a longshot. Scary movies can or cannot have elements of gore in them, that's completely different.

I LITERALLY sat there and saw the movie with a straight face, I have seen A LOT worse gore and so the gore in this movie was NOT realistic at all and not as bad as some of the stuff I have seen. Films do not have to be “scary” to be horrifying. Gore and brutalization is indeed horrifying and therefore horror. To add to that, in the anthology for the terrifier series one of the characters says something that says why this film can be frightening. When they are talking about horror films one of the characters says that demons and monsters aren’t scary to them because they don’t believe they’re real. Art however is supposedly just some guy in a clown costume and can very much be real. In fact Ed Gacy is a real life example of this. And that in itself is horror
