But all of that notwithstanding, if we’re going by the multiversal rules established by the MCU now (which is basically all but confirmed with the presence of the TVA in the movies), the fact that this new Logan and the future, pruned Laura are now existing in what was initially Earth-10005, that means by principle, they’ve now created a separate, branched timeline, or, a completely different universe separate from Earth-10005. Another words…all bets are off 🤷🏼‍♀️😊

No Logan and the doctor makes it clear that mutants haven’t been born in 25 years. The doctor even goes on to explain how he made it happen (the corn syrup) and the X-men are also wiped because of Charles in “Logan” but not in Deadpool. It just doesn’t makes sense

We’re told by a *character* in Logan that a mutant hasn’t been born in 25 years, which is conjecture at its best. But assuming, that is a relatively accurate approximation, that means ~2004. Deadpool 2 takes place in 2018 of Earth-10005, or ~14 years after the *alleged* last-born mutant. The mutants we encounter in Deadpool 2 are from the conversion academy, and seem to be about middle-school age, including Russell, played by Julian Dennison, who was born in 2002. So, I think any disparity is only by a couple of years and, therefore, is objectively negligible 😉🤓

I absolutely loved this movie; it was so hilarious, and all the cameos were great but... I completely agree with you about Vanessa. After all they had been through, there is just NO WAY she would've left him over something like that. Having them be split up wasn't even necessary for this story line so I don't understand why they even did that. It made their relationship seem weak as hell, which makes no sense.

I pretty much surrendered to the spectacle of this movie, but the idea that Vanessa would leave Deadpool just because he had a rough patch after he saved her life twice, once involving time travel? Pretty weak, and they just re-did Deadpool's arc from the first two movies, learning to be a hero and work with a team. Could have been written better. Not by me of course, but that doesn't matter

So this movie is amazing BUT this movie does have one big plot hole. So this movie confirms that Deadpool takes place in wolverines universe which complicates things. If you remember in Logan (2029) there hasn’t been a mutant born in 25 years (?) and the X men are dead but for some reason they’re casually around in the Deadpool universe. There’s also the fact that since Deadpool takes place before 2029 we have two Logan’s and two Laura’s walking around which is interesting. Anyway great movie and great reaction. When I was watching your reaction to “Logan” it looks like you guys missed Charles admitting to killing the X-men with his seizures which is just so sad

Btw Gambit’s accent isn’t Jamaican. It’s a New Orlean’s Creole accent and very accurate. He actually did an excellent job with the dialect. Gambit is from New Orleans and Creole is basically a mix of Haitian and French which is why it’s got that unique twang to it

Cassandra and the ancient one from doctor strange have no relation. In doctor strange it is mentioned that the ancient one had lived a very long time and was of celtic descent. It wasn't even apart of the script for Katherine Matilda(The ancient one) to be bald, she chose to shave her head to make her character stand out. Meanwhile Cassandra in the comics has always been bald, which seemingly is just to show her relationship to charles xavier who is also bald. Still can't lie I thought she might of been the ancient one when they first introduced her, marvel could definitely find a round about way to connect the two and i'm here for it if they do.

That touching end credits behind the scenes is a great send off to fox movies of the past. And Ryan Reynolds’s and Hugh jackman are real life friends. Ryan has always wanted to have a Deadpool and Wolverine team up. And Hugh actually was never wanting to play Wolverine again after Logan released. He’d been tired of the role. But Ryan was able to get his friend to reconsider. I don’t believe marvel had a say, Ryan really wanted this team up and Hugh knew it’d be fun. The reveal of this years back was Ryan on a couch and out of nowhere, Hugh came down steps from an upstairs bedroom, and Ryan asked if Hugh wanted to team up, and he’s like yeah, whatever.

To answer the confusion as to why Channing is playing Gambit in this movie… Channing’s dream role his entire life was to play Gambit as it’s always been his favorite superhero and he has a Cajun father. In 2014 it was announced that he was going to have his own movie as Gambit and the fans were stoked, but unfortunately it went through development hell and kept getting delayed for years, then eventually Disney bought 20th Century Fox and it was cancelled. His appearance in this movie was a gift to him from Ryan since he never got the chance to bring his favorite character to life. Ryan was able to relate since he tried for like 10 years to get a Deadpool movie to get made but to no avail. It took Ryan leaking unused test footage on YouTube for Fox to see the potential in a Deadpool movie.

Something I really appreciated about this movie was the opening credits. Deadpool 1 and 2 had the credits at the very end and I was never a fan of that, but this time they acknowledged everyone just like James Gunn did with the Guardians franchise. The quality took me by surprise because this is a Deadpool movie. Deadpool 1 and 2 were made to intentionally look like total CGI, but with the MCU involved they had to raise the bar. It paid off more than well. Also, I don’t think the MCU was necessarily at a low point except with Secret Invasion. Most of the projects they revealed after Endgame were pretty excellent. Guardians Volume 3 and Loki season 2 helped pick up the slack and more. What I was most excited for was for you guys to see Laura again. Dafne Keen was only 10-11 years old when she worked on Logan 2017 which was her big acting debut. Now she’s 19 and after all these years she still got it. Dafne had doubts as to whether she would be able to portray Laura again. Now that she’s back, she actually wants to reprise her role. Also, she’s still wearing the sunglasses from before. Before my sister and I went to see this movie on opening weekend, I joined for her first time watching Loki season 2. I especially wanted her to see Ke Huy Quan, and like me his character OB ended up being one of her favorites. The reactions paid off after seeing the new and improved TVA have a role. By the way, this is the second X-Men film to have Bye Bye Bye. The first one was X-Men 2. And to answer your question, Vince, that’s not Ryan Reynolds in the suit. That was a pro dancer who needed to come up with the choreo as fast as he could. If you guys wanna see more of Ryan’s work outside of Deadpool, I recommend checking out Free Guy and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.
