Oppenheimer

Barbie next lol

LeSteeler

I would have thought they did already. I’m pretty surprised

All See’er

Right, we know the bomb worked. That’s not suspenseful

All See’er

Make sure everyone votes peaky that wants it at the next poll.

Mark

Man I wish peaky blinders won the show poll

Kinobi10

Don’t know, I don’t really care tbh lol. Facial reaction is all I look for in key scenes

Jihad Lee

How many words in total did they say in the first 3 hours of the video? apart from smiling and paying attention to the dialogue I mean.

Christian Da Silva

It’s funny how she and Vince are smiling like the successful explosion was some wholesome end of a romance movie…but it’s literally the opposite 😅

All See’er

The best part to me was the dialogue and I guess you gotta give credit to the actors, most of the intense scenes were just people chatting

Rafikki

The completionist in me needs them to watch El Camino and Better Call Saul, surely you need to watch them after finishing BB?

Hudpower

This makes me want you to watch Chernobyl series

Lucas

they liked it so much they talked about it for 20 mins after 😂 i never understood the hate comments like if you know their taste in movies then you’d know they were gonna love it

Alex

please do peaky blinders too, cillian is so good in that show and the show itself is incredible

Kyle

Fun fact there was no cgi used in this film

Alex

Robert Downey jr and Cillian Murphy both won their first Oscars from this movie

Alex

Unfortunately not too much. It’s definitely a biographical and historical piece so it covers Oppenheimer from childhood to the Manhattan Project and then the fallout and the trial and up to his death. It reveals extensive information about his character and also provides alot of details about the logistics of the Manhattan project. It also talks about the politics after the war. I think for the the physics behind it you’ll be better off searching on youtube and online

Harry

Did the book dive more into the physics and maths at all? If so, I'll pick it up!

Spencer Parks

you guys should watch cobra kai! its a great series i know u would enjoy it

eva jn

I refuse to believe that this movie is 3 hours! Actually feels like 1 hour 30. People in the comments said this would be a bad reaction movie, not at all great reaction!

august 121

Why did you feel the need to announce that you were skipping the reaction? Going to a reaction just to say you are not watching the reaction is kind of strange.

SavageDiplomat

I’m glad you guys loved it!!! All those comments saying you weren’t going to like it and it would be a bore fest for you guys…shame on them! I knew you guys would love it because you give every movie a chance. People need to stop telling you guys what you like and don’t like. This movie was a masterpiece and I’m glad you thought so too😊😊😊

Jihad Lee

The use of the raindrop visual cue is brilliant The movie opens with him seeing the raindrops at the university, somewhere in the middle is the scene with the map where he has the vision of blast radius of the H-bombs on potential targets, then the movie closes with the raindrops on the pond

Harry

I read American Prometheus by Sherwin and Bird and it was an excellent read if you guys are interested in more! Nolan really made faithful adaptation. Btw, the conversation between Kitty and the prosecutor was taken almost verbatim from the actual transcripts of the hearing

Harry

Yeah, the Japanese were also of a different mindset compared to the Germans just due to their culture and the notion of surrendering being such a humiliating course of action to take. Compared to the Germans, who after Hitler’s death, there were many among the Nazi leadership who were already open to surrender because of the realities on the ground (possibly also because they wanted to soften the impact of their participation and involvement in certain Nazi activities during the war) I think this is still a topic of heated debate with people giving reasons for and against the use of the bomb

Harry

Before they went with the bomb they did research on what an invasion of the mainland of Japan would look like and their result was the death of over 1 million people both civilians and military personnel. So that was their reasoning for going with the bomb. Of course in spite of that it put us on a trajectory that I fear we will soon see complete with the mutual assured destruction of the world

David

As someone who studied Mathematics and planning to do a postgrad in Germany soon, this movie was one of the biggest treats of last year for me. Add the fact that Nolan picked up this project and it had such a stacked cast, I practically lived at the cinema. Spending years seeing theorems on my textbooks being named after some of the scientists featured here or being mentioned by professors and then seeing them appearing in the film was crazy. I never thought I’d see the day where scientists would make cameos in a Nolan film. My favourite was Kurt Godel when he was taking a walk with Einstein. If you guys are interested, google about Godel’s Incompleteness Theorem. It’s also true that he was really paranoid and succumbed to mental illness during the later years of his life. I definitely plan to at least pay a visit to Goettingen, the university they featured at the start which Oppenheimer went to based on Niels Bohr’s recommendation. It used to house some of the greatest mathematicians and physicists of that time before Hitler

Harry

I don’t think there’s a better vote of confidence to watch Peaky Blinders than Cillian’s performance in this

Harry

Superb reaction and discussion guys. Thank you for not pausing throughout this masterpiece. I have to admit i was concerned that there would be a pause or multiple within the first hour which would end up making the rest of the 3 hour film unsynched. I appreciate you both giving the viewers the best experience.

SavageDiplomat

I hate to say I told you so. But people need to not tell Shoshanna and Vince to skip watching longer stuff like this. It's one of their best movie reactions in quite some time. They like well written stuff always have. But that's life.

Mark

Like the joker

Mark

this movie always goes by too fast for me

rian

Love Cillian Murphy his Peaky Blinders role is my favorite

AlPancho

Everyone knows this is fake, just like the moon landing. In reality they just used gunpowder and gasoline

Martin

Christopher Nolan don't miss

Raden

Incredible movie. I love when you guys react to stuff like this.

Mark

I’m glad y’all enjoyed it. There is a difference between being slow and boring and slow paced and intellectual. I think it’s just about mindset in my opinion. Knowing going in this movie will be slow paced and a lot of dialogue. It may be watching alone? Iv tried to watch Oppenheimer alone , it ended up watching me. lol. I’ll try again with somebody else.

Tripp

Fun Fact: After filming Tenet together it was Robert Pattinson who gave Nolan the idea to make Oppenheimer by gifting him a book about the story. Nolan was going to give him a role in it but he was busy with Batman.

LeSteeler

lol facts, never understood why some people say that more should learn about history, but then get mad at a history movie reaction because the person didn’t know about certain elements, isn’t the reason why these movies and tv shows are made, to learn about history you never heard of, i didn’t even know about Oppenheimer before this movie, now I learned so much from watching this movie,

Theo Sebuliba

Don’t worry Michael we got it😂

Graviton

Plus they only know what Wikipedia tells them lol

Mark

Isn’t that… the whole point? People are voting for films they already know and love lol

R

TikTok attention span

Daniel Costilla

Right, dudes wanna act smart on YouTube comments about history, but probably looked up the history on their phone before making a comment on the reaction, I’m not sure if you read YouTube comments, but I just advise to ignore those comments, they don’t mean anything at the end of the day

Theo Sebuliba

you already know😂😂

Vince Shoshana

I just know the comments on YouTube are about to be hella annoying when this is posted, any history movie reaction on YouTube gets bombared by know it all comments from people saying that you don’t know history or you’re stupid if you didn’t know this happened

Theo Sebuliba

Cillian is a goat in peaky

JSM -Tac

Oh now I get what you mean

Theo Sebuliba

Yes it did amazing numbers in the box office but it bombed in cinemas. Cmon people start smelling what I’m stepping in 😏

Michael Pearce

Theo Sebuliba

It did amazing in theaters and won multiple Oscars it made 978 million in the box office

Theo Sebuliba
