I hope they make every side story connect in to the main storyline cuz they failed to do that in this season.

They have to bring it back to the central conflict with Butcher vs Homelander, Supes in white house and the virus so I’m excited Butcher and A Train were done really well this season but everything else felt really dragged out

Having her be the smartest being while speaking with the vocabulary and cuss words of a edgy teenager doesn’t really work for me

There’s a difference between having a character show us they’re actually smart by seeing them make decisions, deduce things and carry out plans that payoff in a later episode compared to just saying that it was my master plan all along once a whole season’s worth of events happens. Of course you can write it that way, but then anyone could have wrote that

But if they were done right I still believe Ryan could have grown to be a good Supe. We had Becca who was a positive mother influence but was too protective and shielded him from certain truths and from his own powers like it was some poison We have Homelander, who actually wants to be the dad he never had but has no concept of how to do it We have Butcher who wants to do right by Becca he’s not strong in that conviction and he’s constantly distracted by his need to get Homelander

I also think that some of the Gen V will be on the good side like Marie, Jordans and Emma. I am also sure there will be some Supes we haven't seen before help, I'm sure they all think they are on the good side because the probably believe the propaganda but might rebel if they know Homelander is bad.

Poor MM just wants to get to his family.

The problem is that she suffers from the old trope of the "intellectual supervillain" - which is that the character is never really shown to be smarter than the writers writing him/her. It's an issue that goes as far back as "Dr. Moriarty" in the original Sherlock Holmes novels. Is the character presented as being the smartest person in the world? Kinda. But is the character actually shown to be the smartest person in the world? No, not really. What we get instead is a rather lazy "walk in, twirl mustache evilly, claim everything went according to plan" solution.. which is basically the oldest and most tired way of writing around the aforementioned issues.

2024-08-17 15:50:13 +0000 UTCI agree with all those other comments so I’ll say who’s story I liked the least this season which was Frenchie, like wth were they doing with his story, season 3 defiantly made it seem like him and kimiko were gonna be together… but okay cool they don’t, but then you add this random guy that he gets with and he killed his family, just for frenchie to get beat up, go to prison at the end of the episode get out the next episode like nothing happened, except he’s more messed up in the head then the least amount of connection I’ve ever felt between kimiko and frenchie they get together? Like huh?

2024-08-17 14:40:38 +0000 UTCMy main issue with them killing Vicky - aside from us losing Doumit, who to me was one of the strongest actors/characters on the show - is that we genuinely need some "grey" characters on the show.. it really risks being a caricature if we're left with Homelander, Deep and Sage. In terms of bringing Maeve back.. I'd love to see it - but real life might impact that particular scenario considering McElliggott more or less left acting entirely, and is currently studying to become a doctor in Ireland. If they do manage to bring her back.. I'm not expecting more than a glorified cameo, or a very(!) small arc. My personal hope right now is that they overlap GenV and S5 more, and that they actually bring some of the "good" kids over onto the main show for it's final whirl in the limelight - and then return them for GenV S3 if they intend to do that.

2024-08-17 14:29:58 +0000 UTCI’m conflicted about how I’m supposed to feel regarding Victoria. Yeah she killed a lot of people, but I was convinced that she genuinely wanted to atone. If nothing else the one thing Vicky feared is happening: her daughter Zoe is now going to Red River Group Home where she also grew up. If Stan Edgar is somewhere out there, maybe he can get her out. Otherwise, it may have to be Marie Moreau and her crew. Kimiko has just started dating Frenchie, and just as he was taken away by Cate she could finally talk. The saddest part about this scene is that the man she loves didn’t get to hear her voice. Knowing her, she’s not gonna give up so easily. She couldn’t save her brother Kenji, but she’s not about to lose her team especially her boyfriend. It’s hard to notice the first time, but Hughie was nodding at Annie motioning her to leave while she still could. We saw how powerful Cindy is. She’s like Eleven but more dangerous because she doesn’t get exhausted. Where Annie went is anyone’s guess, but I have two theories in mind: 1.) You might like this one, Shoshana. We didn’t see Maeve this season, but perhaps Annie went to find her. With the way this season ended, she may have to ask her to return to the fold. Of course that’s up to Maeve, but knowing her I doubt she’ll just stand by and let Homelander win. If she does return, she’ll need another dose of Compound V. 2.) My other guess would be that she bumps into A-Train (or Reggie) who also defected and they team up to bring down Vought and Homelander for good. It might be an uneasy alliance at first, but after helping the Boys knock out Deep and Noir it looked like they started to respect each other. And what does the post-credit scene lead up to? We know Soldier Boy will return to help close out the story, but is he really gonna side with Homelander? With A-Train and Ryan going off-grid, there’s two spots up for grabs. If we’re under the assumption that Soldier Boy will take one of the remaining vacancies, there’s no telling who else will join them. Gen V season 2 will be out next year, and The Boys season 5 (the final season) will be out the following year. In the meantime, The Boys: Mexico is in early stages of development. There’s also a prequel series in the works called The Boys: Vought Rising. It’ll have Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
