The mandatory Butcher’s back with the Boys again A Train has been the best character this season. Also he should have been able to Blue Hawk the Deep if he really wanted to but I guess he doesn’t want to kill anymore even if it’s the Deep and it would also make it obvious who killed Deep. I was surprised that the machine gun was enough to neuter Black Noir. Anything happens in the show. Sage: Ah yes, it’s part of my plan Last episode i mentioned how in my opinion, the milk thing was a step back for Homelander’s character. In this episode i don’t understand why he’s crying over A Train while treating Deep the way he did when giving him instructions. In the Season 3 finale he already gave his speech to Ashley, A Train and the Deep that he doesn’t need any of them and he clearly doesn’t care about any of them and sees them as pawns. He’s also always had a rift with A Train since much earlier on so I found this weird, it’s like Season 3 Homelander crying over Black Noir disappearing. Homelander ripping Webweaver was a great display of raw strength. We continue the flip flopping plotline of Ryan’s loyalty. The writers are just bullying Hughie at this point I think the set up with Butcher is pretty well done and excited for next episode’s reaction. A Train and Butcher have been the highlights of this season

2024-08-17 01:25:50 +0000 UTCPoor Hughie. He's going to be in therapy forever... or not. I still believe all the side stories had merit. We now know Hughie grew df up, real quick. He's ready for whatever comes in 5. When you have a show like this, the development isn't huge until it counts because of the large ensemble cast. Every single character grew in this episode, in one way or another. To the light or the dark, there was definitive progress. It had to be given a few episodes to really drive it home. Personally, I do think they're going to stick the landing. Based on what they've built up over this season, it's going to be epic.

2024-08-16 23:50:28 +0000 UTCagreed Theo 💯 this was definitely a character development season over a actual plot… i really looked at it as a stepping stone for next season as in they just needed certain things to be certain places so they can do what they really want to do with the story, the season definitely still had some solid moments we can’t deny that

Of course there’s a Sony radio in a Sony show. 40:02 This made for the best fight in the season. It actually took them 10 days to film. 48:40 Deep and Noir might as well join the Tracksuit Mafia since they like to say bro so often.

2024-08-16 15:33:21 +0000 UTCIt's called character development, if they didn't have the very meaningful conversation about ******** (I'm not gonna get into it since it's the next episode) I would agree, but since this is a tv show about people I strongly disagree. Marvel shows are more like what you are describing, they have some worth watching if you haven't already. Think about season 1, the only 4 things that happened were Hughie girlfriend, Translucent, Kimiko intro, and a little confrontation in the finale between Starlight and A-Train. Plot wise, this is the second most development in a "The Boys" season. But I do respect your opinion, after rewatching the first 3 I think the criticism is massively undeserved. That's of course my opinion

2024-08-16 15:20:21 +0000 UTCRewatching it again on a second watch, I still do have the same problems with it regards to the plot, it didn’t really develop until this episode and the finale and it felt rushed at the end, this whole season felt off writing wise because the side stories didn’t really matter, if you cut out frenchie and kumikos storylines from the previous episodes and just have them in the last 2, you really don’t miss much, just my 2 cents on it

I rewatched 1-3 before 4 and so much happens in this season plot and character development wise people don't give enough credit! There is a reason this is the most popular show of our day BY FAR.
