Logan

Hey Rangers, we are finally here the movie you've all been waiting for, Logan. Hope you guys enjoy our reaction!

Logan

Comments

Hate to ruin it but she wasn’t referring to this because in the same movie she says “I seen you dying on a bed exactly like this one” But cool theory nonetheless

Tay

Sounds good!

SomeOneGuy

We have a series suggestion post this Saturday, and I plan to pitch this idea to them. You in?

Aldo Gonzales

I'm glad you both enjoyed the film! It's a favorite of mine! If you enjoy the X-Men, I really hope you both react to X-Men 97! It's probably the best adaptation of the X-Men outside the comics!

SomeOneGuy

And if you are meaning logan. They obviously just watched the movie and they wouldnt know that unless they go a research it and really dwell into the timelines which they arent gonna do. Thats why they have supporters to help them

Derion taylor

Not a spoiler if its been told in the trailer. Literally the first thing thats said

Derion taylor

if the didnt know he was from a different universe why would u spoil it

locotoko

No they don’t.

Aldo Gonzales

Not almost. Other than Deadpool & Wolverine, they’re done. End of story.

Aldo Gonzales

So it true that he coming back?, that crazy 🤪 😜 awesome

asia roberson

Also alot of people do not know but you have to remember days of future past where they changed the past. So everything after that point is now new. Nothing from x1 to xmen last stand is current. All of thos movies take place in the old timeline not the new timeline. Apocalyspe and dark pheniox take place in the new timeline. And new timeline futurehave still not been told just the past. We are now living in the past apocalyspe and dark pheniox are not prequels, they are indeed the present now

Derion taylor

(Wolverine and deadpool movie) this wolverine is from a different universe. Do remember xmen is marvel and they have the multiverse. So different person same entity. Some times it can be the same person same entity but different life. So in the wolv and deadpool movie this wolverine will be from a different universe

Derion taylor

You could do a “revisiting the Deadpool movies” where you watch them with this context leading up to Deadpool and Wolverine. I’d be down to watch it again with you.

Bradley Lewis

I don’t, but the director of WandaVision is directing this highly anticipated film with some actors that Vince and Shoshana are already familiar with. I’m hoping Matt Shakman does them justice.

Aldo Gonzales

Whilst I do get what your’re saying with how dark comic book movies are, most of phase 4 of marvel was fun comic book movies and people didn’t like them at all, x men deals with tough topics like the holocaust and race and being othered in society, hell x men was written during the civil rights movement so it’s going to have tough topics that are talked about plus with the great and fun powers that they have, Logan is still the only tough watch comic book movie that has been made in recent memory, but it makes sense because it takes place after all of the mutants have been killed and Logan healing factor is going away, I’m not sure what comic book movies you’ve been watching, but most of them from the past couple of years has been fun and lighthearted and fans have been rejecting them, you can’t just please one audience when you make movies, you have to make them appeal to everyone, there is an audience for fun comic book movies, but unfortunately, the vast majority don’t like them, I do feel that marvel was at its best when it balanced both fun and lighthearted mixed with the darker stuff and i think we’re getting back to that again with Deadpool and Wolverine were it will mix in fun and lighthearted and will still have emotional beats and heart to the story, but when it comes to x-men, there’s going to be darker stories because you’re dealing with race and genocide and stuff like that, not every comic book or movie is like that and you don’t have to watch it either if it isn’t for you just my 2 cents on it

Theo Sebuliba

I know that the length of this post is going to discourage many readers, but I feel a rant coming on so here we go. I really like this movie but make comic book movies fun again. When Marvel was at their best, it was producing fun comic books (and movies) with interesting, but fun characters. Again, this is a well-made movie, but Shoshana is right when she says it's a tough watch. I mean, who just pops this on for a bit of afternoon delight? The death of the farming family in this movie is a prime example of how making something dark for its own sake undervalues the source material involved. It's the only part of this movie that makes no sense. Why would Charles be so insistent that they go to these people's home for dinner and a sleepover when he knows that the three of them are being hunted? It's also rather cynical on the writer's behalf that the family that shows kindness to strangers and is battling a corporate takeover of their land are slaughtered for their trouble. That entire sequence could be removed, and the movie would not suffer. But hey, gotta make it dark, right? I mean, we only live in a world where genocide and war are frequent topics of discussion so it makes sense that not even comic book movies can be vehicles for escapism, right? When I was a kid, I collected comic books. My father would make me do yard work to earn them, but he'd always take me to the comic shop and let me spend as much time there as possible. He was a good man. There was this kid in my neighborhood that always wanted to come over to my house and read my comics. We weren't friends, really, he just came over and would spend hours reading my comics. It annoyed me because I was really touchy about my comics. One day my father explained to me in the gentlest terms possible for a 10-year-old that this kid didn't have a great homelife and that reading my comics was a way to escape that, if only for a few hours. I had a greater appreciation for comics after that discussion. That's what comics, and by extension, comic book movies should be. While I can appreciate the comic book writers that appeared in the 80s and beyond that brought a more mature perspective to these characters, it was the fun golden age representation of these characters that remains the heart of what they are. I don't need to crack open a comic book and see Batman having sex with Catwoman or some other hero naval gazing about the harshness of life (I can read Dostoevsky - who's great by the way - or walk outside my front door for that sobering reminder). And I believe that, more than anything, is why the audience for these types of films are dwindling. If we're going to criticize projects like She-Hulk on one end of the spectrum (and we absolutely should), let's criticize them from the other end as well. Now that I've gotten that likely contradictory mish-mash out of my system, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Mitchell Smilie

A better version? How do you know it will be better?

SavageDiplomat

Need to watch blade for DeadpoolxWolverine

SavageDiplomat

Great reaction guys. I would recommend you watch the Blade trilogy before you watch DeadpoolxWolverine.

SavageDiplomat

to quote tony stark "part of the journey is the end" . Way for the director to encapsulate the last 25 years from xmen 2000 to the first class to now. Logan got a heroes ending . Interested to see what Feige does with the xmen

Bryan Kelly

deadpool really just a spinoff/parody of Marvel. I never took him serious but thats the point

james moore

Glad you guys finally got around to watching this. Not just a great Wolverine movie, but one of the best Marvel films of all time.

Jason Murillo

Also I know you guys did Deadpool but did you ever watch "Green Lantern" with Ryan Reynolds? lolol

Eduardo

Yeas guys amazing reaction!. Blade and Fantastic 4 with Chris Evans and maybe X-Men animated series at some point will get you all caught up in Marvel background. I might be reaching too far with the animated series but Blade trilogy is amazing and Fantastic 4 is a good general culture cause there's a lot of that coming up in next Marvel Phase. Thank you again

Eduardo

This was the one i was waiting for, love this movie

Bobby Hudson

This is on that Winter Soldier level. It’s objectively a great movie, it just so happens to be in the X-men universe. There is a genre of “Superhero Movies” and those are great and all. But on occasion there is a Winter Soldier and a Logan that are just flat out great stories with great acting, and they happen to feature a superhero.

Aaron Boone

My favorite X-Men movie ❤️ Great reaction! If you like the darker, rated R superhero movies checkout Blade with Wesley Snipes, Watchmen, Punisher Warzone, Kick Ass, etc…

Justin

They reported many injured but only seven deceased – and more specifically, seven mutants with some X-Men among them.

Aldo Gonzales

john wick 4

Borbon Zeal

It’s so sad to know that charles thinks logan killed him 😔 when logan tells him it wasn’t me it wasn’t me💔

Alex

i was about to comment this but was checking if anyone else had said it already

Alex

Actually, Vince and Shoshanna, I didn't find it in any of your lists, but have you watched Blade with Wesley Snipes? It came out in 1998, I believe, and it paved the road for the success of X-men. I've always felt the "Marvel films" should be considered as truly starting with Blade, even though the MCU didn't begin until Iron Man arrived.

Thaddeus Winterson

Not required. Marvel Studios is working on a better version.

Aldo Gonzales

They don’t have to.

Aldo Gonzales

the fantastic four movies should be next, then yall will have seen every marvel movie

Prince Zay

are we not doing Dark Phoenix?

Prince Zay

I've been waiting since Deadpool to see you guys watch Logan. You spoil me.

Jonathan Perez

So.. this particular film is... very "bitter sweet" in an "extra" way then most people for me... this was THE film I sat down with my grandmother whom i was very close with and watched and spent time with her before her passing. So quite literally THE last memory I have with my grandmother is directly associated with this film. And it always hits hard in my case. Moreso than just the overall feel of the film itself.

Justin Cross

If you’re referring to Vince and Shoshana, they’re already caught up with the MCU.

Aldo Gonzales

Doctor strange movie explained different dimensions and with different versions or heroes

Julz Perez

Gotta start catching up on mcu stuff because that explains how we are getting the Deadpool and wolverine movie

Julz Perez

I was about to comment about this same thing. It was Yukio from The Wolverine that had seen Logan’s death. The part she says “holding your heart in your hand” was symbolic for Logan holding his daughter Laura’s hand as he died. Pretty cool connection.

Chris T

Also while I am a little disappointed we aren't getting "our" Wolverine in Deadpool 3, it's way too complicated to bring him in--and not just because they literally just killed him in Logan. Is he from the original X-men trilogy timeline? Is he from the retconned timeline that now exists after Days of Future Past? If he let down his entire world does that mean the events of DOFP doesn't matter and they all died for no reason anyways (let's also not think about how LOGAN also makes the events of DOFP meaningless). It's just chaos. Bringing him inf from an alternative timeline allows us to have fun with the characters without having to deal with Fox's ridiculous timeline problems.

mikekillam

But if you remember the line from the one Tokyo wolverine movie “you will die bloody holding your heart in your hand” it’s exactly how he went out

Simon

What a reaction!! Absolutely loved it glad you guys enjoyed it!! This one is for sure emotional 😂

Simon

So to answer your question about Deadpool & Wolverine and how the characters will come into play going forward as they prepare to enter the MCU.... We'll find out soon enough, but there are still some questions to be answered. In the trailers, we see the TVA (from Loki) find Deadpool, which is how we can get multiple characters from multiple timelines together. It seems like Deadpool has recruited Wolverine to help save his timeline. But the trailers also say that THIS version of Wolverine let his entire world down. Either way, it's a safe bet that the version we're getting isn't from any of the Fox timelines we've seen so far--given that he's now dead--but is actually from a separate timeline altogether. If that's in any way confusing as hell... welcome to the Multiverse Saga.

mikekillam

best wolverine movie so raw and real

Leon

Hands down one of the best comic movies ever. Violent R rated wolverine is what the fans wanted. Incredible acting as well.

Kevin Matthew

Wow... I need to go find a comedy to watch after this. That was intense 🤣😭☠️

Yess... Cuban B

It’s so funny that y’all just watched Apocalypse, because Caliban (the bald albino guy) is the one who helps tracks the mutants for Mystique. Same character. Different older actor.

mikekillam

Dude, put it all in one comment and paragraph it. I swear it’s much easier to read.

Aldo Gonzales

The BEST X-MEN movie of all time!

JESSEMLR1

By the way that character with Logan and Charles was calaban, yall met him in apocalypse

Simon

So to answer your question Vince “how are they this down bad” Charles was responsible for causing a catastrophe that killed so many people including most the X-men, after that day the government was just completely sick of mutants banned them and hunted them all down.

Simon

It broke me. I'm triggered.

Shirlene Wright

Let’s goooo!! I love yall I hope you guys enjoy

Simon

this is truly easily one of the best comic book/superhero movies ever made. it’s in my top5 for sure and wolverine got a perfect goodbye, still hoping to see x23 in deadpool & wolverine

Will Woods

Captain America , Black widow , Iron man played by same actors . But from different universes . Rumored to be in the future movies .

Tjbosslyfe

Avengers secret war movie in like 2026 . It's like a final battle where we will need every hero there Is for a big final fight .

Tjbosslyfe

Just keep in Mind about the Loki and the Timeline branches. Different variants if all the characters are still in Play . In the Comics in a big battle Different versions of our heros come back . Black widow ,Iron man , Captain America . They all are suppose to come back . I've heard Robert Downey Jr already has said he comming back to the franchise.

Tjbosslyfe

Movie is dark probably only seen it like 4 times . I was like Wolverine don't age . And don't get older like that . He supposed to heal . I had mixed feelings about the movie because Logan is one of my favorite marvel characters in General. Hugh Jackman didn't want to film the movies anymore . He said he was in physical pain from the Stunts I guess . Or having to get into wolverine shape at his age would be difficult.

Tjbosslyfe

1 My favorite part of the franchise , Is the Logan Gene Relationship. That's something he got to experience. Gene pretty much loved Logan too. He killed her. But they fixed it with Days of future past .

Tjbosslyfe

🙌🏾

Antonio

You guys should check out X-Men 97!!!

Low

You guys should of watched X-Men Dark Phoenix before but you can still watch it

Eric H

Fox is not making any more X-men stuff your almost done with their version of the X-men. And theirs a new mutants movie also. And the other X-men movie dark phoenix. I believe it is the last one . The next iteration of the X-men will be in the mcu.

Dccomicfan

They have said that Logan is still canon, but just in a different universe, plus the third Deadpool movie would’ve been a road trip between Wolverine and Deadpool before fox was bought out by Disney, but they said that Logan takes place in a different universe and the Wolverine in the third Deadpool movie is a different version than this one, 2 completely different versions of the character so the logan ending is still protected just a different universe

Theo Sebuliba

This is probably my favorite comicbook movie ever made - primarily because it lets powers and all the flashy stuff play second fiddle to the humanity of the characters involved. I also consider it the most worthy "goodbye" ever given to a character - or it would have been a goodbye except for that new Deadpool movie.. still not wholly sure how I feel about that.

unlit_ssunn

Great reaction guys. I remember watching this movie when it came out and I was devastated tbh. I had read the comic book that inspired this movie but even still it did not prepare me at all. If you guys are still interested in the X-Men franchise, I hope you guys check out the X-Men 97 animated series that came out recently. It’s like 10 episodes long and you don’t need to have watched the original animated series to follow what’s going on at all. Personally I think it’s one of the best things marvel have released for a while and I’d think you guys would love it Anyway peace

Graviton

I'm positive that the director did confirm that Logan is apart of the new revised timeline. At the beginning both Hugh and James went back and forth on how Logan fits into the greater timeline but as of now Logan is confirmed to be set after Days of Future Past within the new timeline.

LittleGalaxyBoy

This was an absolute treat to see in the theater. Everyone was crying, thinking "Is this the last time we see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine?"

Smellwell

Fun fact the comics you see in this film were custom made for the movie as Marvel permitted them to use X-Men comics in the film, provided none were real issues. According to the director himself. So Hugh Jackman contracted Marvel’s chief creative officer Joe Quesada and artist Dan Panosian to create their own comics based heavily on the X-Men comics of the 80s, Dan Panosian personal favourite X-Men era. Within universe these comics were created by the "X-Men Comics Group" but we have no idea who commissioned them. I like to think that Scott or even Charles himself had X-Men comics made about the events of the X-Men. To inspire Mutants while also showcasing them as a force of good for Human readers. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) also featured children reading Captain America Comics #1 (1941) with the iconic cover art of Captain America punching Hitler. This is the first Marvel film I can think of where they featured a real comic, maybe Howard the Duck (1986) featured a Howard the Duck comic but this pretend that never happened lol And no doubt the other hero's of the MCU that have their own comics as well in universe. Ms. Marvel highlighted Avengers Con so it's clear that there's all kind of Avengers themed items including Comics, clothing, action figures etc.

LittleGalaxyBoy

i heard this movie is about one of X-Men multiverses. so it’s not related to the X-men universe we know

paulie42

finally, Logan is here, I can sleep..great reaction!

Mark W

Love it!

Wreath35

Doesn’t feel real

Alex

Logan was made before fox was bought out by Disney and marvel, so at the time this was Hugh jackmans last time playing Wolverine, before the buyout, the third Deadpool movie would’ve been a roadtrip with him and Wolverine, but that didn’t happen, the Wolverine in Deadpool is a completely different version compared to this one, they said that they’re still keeping Logan the way it is and this movie still counts, the Wolverine in Deadpool is not the same version as this one, 2 completely different versions

Theo Sebuliba

Not only is this one of the best marvel movies, it's up there as one of the best films in my opinion

Harry

I saw this in theaters and I AM STILL NOT OVER IT! I had no clue it was gonna go down like that. I try not to watch spoilers or trailers before I watch the movie.

Shirlene Wright

Ok. Taking an edible and let's see how this goes! 🤣

Jessi

YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Jonseyboy 334

One of the best marvel movies ever 🙏🏽

j0-2TiMEZz

Hey, guys. I know this is a long comment, but please read it when you have the chance. I think you’re gonna like this one. 54:24 before anything else, I got you good didn’t I? There was no embargo, but I can’t tell you how hard it was for me to keep that under wraps because I wanted to surprise you. In fact, you guys are probably the only reactors who have seen Shane before going into this one. So congratulations on this special milestone. The 1953 film Shane has some parallels that are explored in this film, but the most notable one is Logan’s heart to heart with Laura in Eden. Just like Shane told Joey that there’s not going back, Logan tells Laura that she has to learn to live with it. Looking back, this movie also has a few parallels to a few shows you reacted to. First, there’s Stranger Things. Zander Rice kept Laura and her friends locked in a lab just like Brenner did with Jane Ives/Eleven and the other kids including you-know-who. Logan and Laura also have a bit of a dynamic like Jim Hopper and Eleven. Then there’s The Last of Us. Joel Miller was a broken man who didn’t care about Ellie at first, but over the course of their journey they became a father-daughter duo. In a similar sense, Logan was reluctant to help at first but by the end he became the father she had wanted. And there is one more parallel I forgot to mention: the High Evolutionary from Guardians Volume 3. While Rice was creating living weapons, the High Evolutionary was creating what he called the perfect society. What both of them have in common is that they don’t care about who they’re experimenting on to the point of discarding them. Two years before we cried for Tony in Avengers: Endgame, we cried for Logan. Other reactors who have gotten into the X-Men movies over the last 3-4 years have felt the same way. Laila Naema, Sebscreen, Natalie Gold, Mary Cherry, VKunia, Addie Counts, Alex Hefner, The Octobers, and Reacts with Jax didn’t have a dry eye by the end of the film. Ashleigh Burton has yet to watch this one. In Days of Future Past, the X-Men were able to avert total disaster in their original timeline and prevent the sentinels from being created. As a result, when Logan said the events of the Statue of Liberty happened a long time ago he really meant long. He’s the only one who still remembers the old timeline. However, in this new timeline, mutants are still going extinct. This time it’s not because of the Sentinels. Rather, it’s Canewood corn syrup. There have been hints shown throughout the entire movie, but it wasn’t confirmed until Zander Rice brought it up. Any food that contained Canewood corn syrup such as the drinks and cereals he mentioned would reverse the mutagen because Alkali-Transigen would embed the counteragent into the genetically modified corn. To add to that, Charles started losing control of his powers in 2028. In the process, he accidentally killed some of the X-Men. As for Logan, it’s worth remembering that he didn’t always have metal claws. The reason why he’s physically struggling is because the adamantium had been poisoning his body. His healing factor fought the effects for so long, but the metal eventually started breaking down and poisoning his blood. As a result, not only has it affected his ability to heal but it’s also made him begin to age. By the way, the name he used for the limo driver ID is his real name James Howlett. I doubt almost anyone in 2029 would be wondering about his identity and age. I also can’t forget about Laura and her friends. The nurses were all they had as family. Rice ordered to have their biological mothers killed so that no one would talk. At least the nurses had heart and were determined to save them. They didn’t see them as experiments but rather as children and living beings with full lives ahead of them. Some behind the scenes trivia: 1.) Hugh Jackman accepted a pay reduction in order to give this film an R-rating since he didn't wanna hold back on the violence this time around. 2.) Hugh would have two stunt doubles – one for Old Man Logan and one for his clone X-24. When Hugh would portray one of the two, the corresponding stunt double to the other character would step in. 3.) We’re in 2024, but this movie was made about eight years ago. The car they used for the 2024 Chrysler E8 limo that Logan was driving was actually a custom-made Chrysler 300. 4,) The water tower they used in the Juarez set wasn’t some random tower they found. They designed and built it from the ground up. The interior of the tower was even made to be modeled after Cerebro. 5.) The comics used in this movie were drawn by Joe Quesada and Dan Panosian. Director James Mangold was allowed to embed comics into the movie as long as they weren’t actual issues that Marvel published. (Also, it’s kinda funny that we see a comic book in a comic book movie. The Spider-Verse films did the same.) 6.) Caliban’s power was that he could locate mutants. After he sacrificed himself, the drones that Rice used to locate the kids had some of Caliban’s tissue embedded in them. 7.) Speaking of Rice, the actor who portrayed him is Richard E. Grant. This was his first Marvel role, and eventually he got to portray Classic Loki. He was also General Pryde in The Rise of Skywalker. 8.) And finally, Dafne Keen was about 10 years old when she auditioned. She pitched in the idea to have Laura speak Spanish, and they gave her the green light. In real life, her father is British and her mother is Spanish. As someone who grew up in a Spanish speaking household, I felt that was a nice touch to her character.

Aldo Gonzales

Oh yes! One of my favorite movies on my bday, great way to start the day!
