Breaking Bad (Season 4 - Finale)

Hey Rangers, we're so glad we were able to check out this amazing finale for you guys this week hope you guys enjoy our reaction!

Breaking Bad (Season 4 - Finale)

Comments

While it did cross my mind as a possibility at one point, I always suspected that Walt was behind Brock's poisoning. By this point I the show, it just seemed like the most Heisenberg thing to do. Gus on the other hand, really has nothing to gain from poisoning a child in this equation imho.

Yess... Cuban B

So what? People can ask them to slog through ten Fast and Furious movies and endless mindless comedies, but not arguably the greatest television show ever conceived? I for one hope they experience the brilliance of that show and share it with us.

Mitchell Smilie

When Gus is sat in the car before walking in, his left side of the face is lighter. When he walks in, the camera moves to the left side of his face and he walked out at the end, with the left side of his face

Bamboozler09

Breaking Bad continues to be my favorite show and there is nothing better. From beginning to end

Drip Drop

Prepare yourselves. At the time it aired, Season 4 of Breaking Bad, particularly the last 4 episodes, solidified the show as being one of the greatest shows of all time. And now... you're about to embark upon Season 5, which took it so far to the next level that it might be THE greatest of all time. The entire season is LIGHT-YEARS ahead of anything the show has done yet. Season 5 of Breaking Bad is Vince Gilligan's magnum opus. I've never been one to say that anything is perfect... but Season 5 is the definition of perfect! It will destroy you, as a viewer, then build you back up and destroy you again... then build you back up... just to destroy you AGAIN... before ending in the most incredible way!

Cmann1887

These last 4 episodes have been what we’ve been waiting for!

Aaron Boone

Watching Better Call Saul is going to add so much weight to what Walt managed to do here

Harry

It freaked me out so badly when i first watched it 😭😂

Tia

Gus face was horrific

Dccomicfan

The Sopranos would take forever, PastaDon.

Aldo Gonzales

watch better call saul after u finish breaking bad

Borbon Zeal

damn i didn’t know they weren’t for sure about a s5

Alex

I agree this almost could’ve been a series finale it’s honestly crazy that we got a season 5 and 16 episodes 3 more than most seasons

Alex

Absolutely Love Y’all’s Reaction!!!!!!! My favorite show and y’all are my favorite reactors!!!! Walt did need Jesse to find a way to get close to Gus. Jesse told Saul about Hector who told Walt, without that Walt would’ve had no where to go. I can’t wait for y’all to see season five it’s the majority of fans favorite season. My personal favorite is 2 it has everything that makes Breaking Bad great, it introduces Saul Mike and Gus, but mostly because I really love Jesse and Jane’s relationship. For that relationship to end the way it did was so tragic and wild and put the show in sixth gear. A part of me wishes the relationship would have lasted, but it’s such good television I can’t be mad, Phoenix is still one of my favorite episodes. Anyways that’s a talk for the end of the show. I couldn’t stop smiling from start to finish knowing everything that was coming and how y’all were gonna react to it. The breakdown at the end was so big and energetic. I absolutely can’t wait for season five it really gets crazier than ever. Even after all these years Breaking Bad just keeps on giving. You two are incredible, can’t wait for next week peace. 💙

Terry

I wonder if Mike is gonna be upset with Walt? 🤭🤭🤭🤭

Tim Martin

Funny that Vince says this would have been a great end to the series. At the time, the creators weren’t sure if they would get a 5th season, so this episode was written to work as a series finale if there was to be no season 5.

Tim Martin

😭😭😭

Alex

yeah and i’d also love for them to react to sopranos maybe one day they will

Alex

Ya mike would have smelled that coming from a mile away.

Mark

Attack on titan ending is up there as well in one of the best

Sean Carroll

He was never ahead of gus at all until finally his final move to use hector to kill Gus. That was Walter’s only play that could work, everywhere else Gus was on top of walter

Sean Carroll

I don’t think he knew for sure. He looked so relieved that he didn’t wind up killing a child even after Jesse left. He wasn’t faking that.

CampingEvolved

If mike was there he would’ve stopped all of this 😂 from happening even the writers knew that’s why they wrote him out of the last couple episodes 😂

Alex

That's why when Jesse tells Walt that Brock is going to pull through, Walt sighs a huge relief, he didn't want to be responsible for Brock's death, but he had to do what he had to do to get Jesse on his side to kill Gus so he could protect Hank and his family. As fucked up as it was, he didn't use a poison he thought would kill Brock. Just manipulate Jesse into thinking Gus used the ricin to poison Brock. Walt's acting when Jesse had the gun to his head made me believe he was innocent until we saw the end scene with the flower.

Bob

You know how when a chicken loses it's head, and it still walks around? When Gus’ head gets blown up, he does his signature reflex & fixes his tie, just how a chicken would. It's even a callback all the way back to 0201 with the two–faced, one–eyed teddy bear from the cold open. Farewell Gus 👋 you were one of the best to ever do it. Gus' death: impressive. Lily of the valley reveal: mind blown 🤯🤯 For the first time in the series the audience gets to feel what it's like to be manipulated by Walter- firsthand, successfully, with the exception of the minority who guessed it right most likely when Gus stopped walking towards his car in the parking garage. When the detectives are interrogating Jesse over the ricin comment they say the doctors are beginning to think that it was ricin that poisoned Brock- goes to show just how thorough Heisenberg was with his plan.

Justin

Walt needed Jesse to lure Gus, then to tell him where he could catch Gus unawares. Plus, Walt views Jesse almost as his third kid, and Jesse views Walt as a father figure, although neither of them would admit it. Even though they are often at each others' throats, they have a bond that Walt does not want to sever. Frankly, I think he's low-key disappointed in Walter Jr. because of his handicap, which is terrible to say out loud, but it's Walt we're talking about here. He will go to ridiculous lengths to keep Jesse, his "adopted son," close to him. Walt is just full-on chaotic evil at this point. Everything is about his ego and what he wants.

Thaddeus Winterson

He needed Jesse to find out about the nursing home

Joshua Johnson

Season 5 is on another level lol

Joshua Johnson

this is the perfect ending for walt and jesse fans. if the show ended here, we can assume walt and jesse return to a normal life without a worry of any enemy ties. "the good ending" where all the main characters and innocent side characters survive. but there was still a lot of potential for the show to continue and it would make sense for walt and hank's characters to not just give up and to return to a normal life.

s0l0 !

Walt poisoning Brock was not only to get Jesse on his side but also his desperate attempt to take out Gus by baiting Gus to the hospital so that he could try to plant the bomb in his car in the parking deck. It didn’t work bc Gus put it all together, literally as he was walking to his car. His instinct made him suspicious as he realized that whoever poisoned Rock might have wanted him to be there at that moment.

Tyler

In the words of our friend Billy Butcher, “that was Diabolical!”

Ray H

Walt not only played Jesse. He played US, as well lol. 😂

Tim Martin

and it is very unique... like a signature Walt move. I dont know if im explaining this right but the writing feels very true to his character.

Ravi

Walt makes the plan as hes spinning the gun. He also did need jesse. It might seem mundane but without jesse he would have never known to go to the nursing home. Love this season so much. I always go between this and season 5 but rewatching this with you guys has been a blast. Its crazy with this and better call saul and inhindsight going fuck, jesse actually had it good with gus and gus was actually the “good” bad guy if you know what i mean. Walts just an evil manipulative pos. Love this show and as vince said this would have been a perfect end and i agree and actually it was made that way bc they werent sure theyd come back for season 5 so they left it in a way that this could be the end. The show didnt blow up until the final season. For as amazing as this is the last stretch of episodes are as perfect of an ending for a tv show as youll ever get. Only contender for me for as good of an ending are black sails and no surprise, better call saul. Sorry for the huge long winded comment. So pumped for the final 16.

Brandon L Bevilacqua

Its been good lmao

Brandon L Bevilacqua

Walt probably knew the boy wouldn’t die, he needed Jesse to be suspicious of Gus. And to use the bomb with the wheelchair just perfection

jasminebrklyn

Now it gets good.

Raymond Quinn

Walt definitely needed Jesse to kill Gus. Prior to the poisoning, Jesse was much more closer to Gus than Walt at that point. If Walt had not poisoned Brock, Jesse would be much closer to siding with Gus than Walt but because Walt made Jesse believe it was Gus who poisoned Brock, Jesse now is fully on board with killing Gus instead of Gus killing off Mr. White. He needed Jesse to draw Gus out to the hospital so he could use the bomb to kill Gus.

Erik Gonzalez

I don’t think it was as serious of a game plan as Vince likes to think. The entire time before this episode Walt had no idea how to get rid of gus, the only reason he was able to find a way was because of Jesse remembering the old man. Gus was 100% ahead of them before this and Walt didn’t have any ideas,he just needed Jesse on his side.

Kyle

Gus Ego took him down. He kept tuanting that guy in wheel chair ,it came back to bite him . He baked Walt into a corner . I felt Walt was always 20 moves ahead that's just me. He just didn't have the man power to combat Gus .

Tjbosslyfe

Walt did what he needed to do🤷🏾‍♂️

Kyle

Walt definitely was loosing the chess match. But I always felt Walt was as smart as Gus . Walts the final Boss now . He went to Jessie for help. Gus was going to kill his kids and Skyler . If he didn't let Gus take out Hank . Walter did something terrible to protect Hank . Which backdoor protected his family .

Tjbosslyfe

Walt's initial plan was to use Jesse to draw out Gus, which technically worked. (Gus was being pretty careful to not go when he felt he didn't need to at this point) It might have been a misstep in terms of the assissination failing, but it DID lead to Walt finding out about the connection between Gus and Hector (from Saul, who only now got that information from Jesse after Jesse spent time thhinking about where to isolate Gus, at Walt's earlier request).

DKThunder

Jesse is the one that told Walt and Saul that Gus was torturing Hector. Walt needed Jesse because he is the only ally of Walt that had spent any time with Gus recently. Also Walt knew Jesse's soft spot for children. He knew that Jesse was open to emotional manipulation. It's like you said Vince. He had to make a bold move against the kid in order to get a small chance at manipulating Jesse. There's a huge factor here yall are forgetting (Saul) he knew about Andrea and the kid as well.

Mark

And now on to season 5

Jack Holliman

Walt getting Jesse on his side led to Jesse telling Saul about Gus visiting Hector. That's the one piece of the puzzle Walt needed. Now, could Walt have gained this info without poisoning the kid? Maybe. The thing is, if he doesn't poison the kid, and have the big reveal at the end, then there would be zero drama heading into season 5, which is no bueno for TV shows... so....ya know...

Michael Maneese

Shoshanna: Walt is so evil! Vince: 👏🥳🎉

Martin

Going to be so hard to wait for Season 5!!!

Joe

I love the scene where Walt appears from the darkness in the elevator and fires three times. The next shot, you see him dressed in black, sliding out of the shadows

Martin

Yeah, everyone talking about Walt's brilliant strategy to outplay Gus is really a testament to the quality writing. What a freakin amazing plot.

Mic

Walter hartwell white

Darragh O’Reilly

I love that analogy of chess Vince, that’s dead ass what it is, a battle of the brains and who moves smarter

Simon

“Honestly I can spit”😭 I mf felt that

Simon

Walter’s manipulation to Jesse is deplorable 😭 Ugh, I was so stunned when I found out he poisoned that kid. Look back at ep 12, you’ll see Walt looking at the Lily of the Valley plant when he was sitting by the pool. And of course the “face off” with Gus omggg such a great ep. Season 5 is amazing, and DARKER than the other seasons, ya’ll will love it.

Tia

“Can she uh, keep it the fuck down”😭😂

Simon

No one mad-dogs Heisenberg as successfully as Francesca

Martin

Walter did it because he knew that Jesse doesn’t play around when it comes to kids and he knew that poisoning Brock and blaming it on Gus would make Jesse go back to Walt’s side because Gus isn’t above getting kids killed

Theo Sebuliba

The show could’ve ended here and been amazing. It’s incredible that it gets even better in season 5

RF

Your guys reaction to Gus being two face was amazing 😭🔥

Simon

C'mon y'all.. I mean, how can people even deny this was one of the best show's in tv history!! Perfect storm.. imo, and these two still have another season to go!! Vince Gilligan and his writing team are masters at what they do.. Would love to get Vince & Sho to watch the Sopranos.. on the same level of writing as BB.. imo..

PastaDon

Amazing finale!

Jako Williams

FINALE TIMEEE

Tia

YALL ARE GOATS

Simon

@37:30 Hector looked at Gus like he would be saying, “You won. I lost everything. I have nothing left to live for. I’m done.” However, the satisfaction that Gus wanted only lasted for a brief moment. Ten seconds later, Hector changed his face like he were saying, “I’m gone, and I’m taking you both.”

Aldo Gonzales

Oh boy don’t know if you did the double drop from my suggestion last week but so glad you did

Mack M

here we go!
