The writers room to this point was very split on the subject. Announcing it this clearly and this early on is kind of a spoiler. Vince Gilligan and his writers had not decided his sexuality or partners to a certainty at this point. Vince said this in an interview with Chris Hardwick. Not saying you haven't watched the show and seen but no matter how hard you listen and pay attention, the writers at this point had not decided and were years away from making a decision.

It is intentionally ambiguous because part of enjoying the show is thinking about these things. Why would you want to explain things to them, using information that was only given *after the show had ended*?

Like an Easter egg

I get folks want to share information, and people get frustrated when reactors get something incorrect, but people also like figuring these things out on their own (successfully or not). Turns out, a lot of people dont like unprompted guidance.

Information is given later in Breaking Bad to help people draw or confirm their conclusions about Gus' relationship with Max. Please let them figure things out on their own. It's fine to point out things they literally didn't see or hear in the episode, but I think it's premature to be pointing out things that were confirmed after the show.

2024-06-16 07:17:54 +0000 UTCI think his brother was the "friend" he told the DEA he named the scholarship (which Gale won) after. Just being different races doesn't mean you can't be brothers. Maybe they had different mothers or fathers, etc. Or even just random genetics, which in real life can produce twins who appear to be completely different ethnicities, depending on their ancestry.

With or against Pinochet (dictator of Chile for some time) I think his Partner Max could cook good meth I think the Cartel was just short sighted and didn't see the investment in meth (like Max said Meth did indeed become a huge drug of the future.)

A loophole of mine in this episode is that Gus doesn't address Walt by his name at Los Pollos when he's with the bug- even though Hank, the rest of Walt's family and some of the dea already know of their relationship. Also Hank is being extremely inconsiderate to Walt by planting the bug & getting him involved with a high level drug dealer. It could come back to hurt Walt or his family
