But a lot of people do consider it the worst. just wanted to give them a little warning since on the surface level it doesn’t add a whole lot to the plot, story, or characters. Also i have to respectfully disagree and say that story is arguably the most important part of any show

2024-05-18 00:31:28 +0000 UTCThe story doesn't progress in The Fly, but if you watch Breaking Bad only for the story you are missing out on 98% of what makes the show great. The plot (not the same as story), characters and setting are all developed in The Fly, with great performances, music choice, cinematography, stunts and visual/practical effects. I also think they show the parental dynamic between Walt and Jesse from a new angle. The final message of the episode is important too: not only is Walt making bad choices that lead to battles, he's actively seeking battles at every opportunity. But yeah maybe skip the reaction if it's not an episode you're able to enjoy

It's technically a filler episode in the sense of nothing happens to move the overall plot along, but it's not a bad episode at all. It's a great exploration of Walt's mindset. It has a great monologue from Bryan Cranston and some really funny moments.

From what I know, they needed a high budget for the finale, so they had to create an episode that was really low-budget and basically took place in one location with fewer characters. Many will tell you to skip it, I think you can't go wrong either way. But just know, that episode doesn't add a whole lot to the series and is considered the only 'filler' episode.

2024-05-17 16:48:38 +0000 UTCI completely agree. If we look at it from Jesse's pov, he's out of the hospital and has a job paying him $1.5mil, and the guy who beat him up is in the hospital. And this entire episode he was alone in a brand new lab with interesting machines. So, I think it makes sense that he was acting this way.

I think he was genuinely pleased to see Hank ( the man who put him in the hospital) shot up and in the hospital himself. And then he sees the new lab and realizes how big of a deal this is and knows they’ll make a ton of money. He’s just really feeling himself right now. Good for him.

I think he was just bored as he waited and he’s obviously been through a lot with Walt. I’m sure your opinion on him will change as things progress

2024-05-17 15:19:47 +0000 UTCThink ur being a little harsh on Jesse for acting silly during that scene. He was just excited about the lab 😂, so he was like a kid in a candy store. I think he definitely changed for the better. This whole season he’s been more serious and smarter. The way he took back his house from his parents; him cooking blue meth on his own and just as good as Walt; and the way he’s stayed sober since getting out of rehab. I feel like he’s a new and improved Jesse.
