I watch for breaking bad. X men movies etc. The Boys is also fun to vicariously enjoy. My point is they are purely wonderful people. What's insane is how you basically just tried to tell me what i've been doing my whole life without knowing me at all. I probably have more life experience than most people. I've grown up poor, had to deal with all kinds of abuse and discrimimation throughout my whole life, was homeless for a good while, etc. I was lucky enough to be born in a country where education and health services are free/very affordable so I was able to build a decent life from basically nothing through meeting all kinds of people and working my way up. So I'm very much familiar with the "real world" which is what lead me to my job and try to help others who have been in similar situations.

I never said that trans people and black people are being treated the same in such a generalized way like you did (english is not my main language so maybe I phrased it wrong but I'm sure I was clear enough) I said that trans people are being portrayed in media in a hurtful way (harmful stereotypes, etc.) the same way black people were portrayed as all the terrible things I don't want to list here back in the day. I'm not exactly comparing the two, i'm using the false portrayal of black people to explain the concept of why false portrayal of marginalized people in media is wrong. Since nowadays racism is one of the types of discrimination where most people agree that it is objectively wrong, I use it as an example for the concept i'm explaining to make it easier for people to resonate with my standpoint. Where in western society are white people discriminated the same way queer people are today? (And I hope you understand that discrimination doesn't just mean that there's certain discriminatory laws, but can also refer to purely societal/cultural views, just in case you want to hit me with the typical "name one right that queer people don't have")

I'm not sure what that last sentence of yours means but if you're saying that i'm "silencing speech" i'm kind of confused since i'm pretty sure you're still able to voice your opinions right? My only point is that you can make jokes about certain groups of people without just punching down on them. It just takes a bit more intelligence to write comedy like that which is what makes good comedy *good* in my opinion.

Any somewhat intelligent person would know that media shapes peoples world views and this is the same way bullies who take a kids belongings and throw it around say "relax, we're just playing/having some fun" or people who get death threats online being told "chill, it's just a couple of pixels dude". You need to understand that all of those things aren't as simple as "it's just this or that" but that there's actual human beings behind all of that.

The thing is that often times the whole punchline of trans jokes is just about our existence. I've seen plenty of comedians or comedy shows/movies that managed to include trans people in jokes WITHOUT the joke simply being "haha look at those weirdos, aren't they so weird?". If you put any piece of media out to the world which you know will be seen by millions of people, you have a certain moral duty to uphold and need to ask yourself if a joke that portrays arguably one of the most marginalized groups of people in a way that will most likely act as a way to enforce peoples horrible world views which are based on misinformation and lead to discrimination, is worth telling. I myself very much enjoy dark humor, yet I can still differentiate between actual humor and so called "jokes" that basically just punch down on those already fucked by society and only appeal to the ones who punch down on others aswell... I hope you never have to experience the way we're treated in society and portrayed in media, cause it really fucking hurts. (At least then you'd understand my point of view though.)

It wont make sense if you dont have at least some basic knowledge of the films thats referenced. Scream 1 is the bare minimum.
