I agree that he has an ego but cooking meth for his pride is something that doesn't happen before season 5 really. And the Jane thing is fucked up indeed, but to be honest she would have died eventually later on. I mean 2 heroin addicts with 500k in cash are not just gonna stop using heroin. And she would have taken Jesse with her.

Also, based on the receptionist's cool (or even cold) reaction to Skylar when she first went to apply for the job, I think it's safe to say that they were all at least sorta-kinda aware of something between her and Ted. Whether I'm wrong about all of that or not, fact is they know now 🤣😭💀

I’m not sure she’s doing it out of ego but rather to fill the void in her life: her husband did leave her in the midst of a health crisis that was anything but restful for them, he lied to her for months and continues to lie to her without any problem. He turned his son against her, whether intentionally or not. He is actually responsible for a large part of the things that are wrong in her life. Their marriage was probably already on the rocks before the start of the series, given the way their relationship is portrayed, but still… Clearly, Skyler is not innocent but Walt bears a hefty dose of responsibility for many sordid things that have happened, and they were certainly more serious than an affair!

Instead hed rather lie and manipulate his wife and child to make himself feel better. People who try to make Skylar out as some kinda evil villain are insane. Great reaction as always!
