Joey may be fascinated by guns, but he doesn’t yet have the level of maturity to understand that the bullets fired don’t discriminate between friend and foe. No matter who fires them, they hurt everyone. Shane understands that much. Like he said, there’s no walking back from such a deed. He did what he did so that Joey wouldn’t have to. As he gets older he’ll understand.
