Most of us are patients, and we don’t always see what the others go through. Doctors do. They’re the ones who help us, but they also have the obligation to tell us how things are.

2024-03-25 09:54:05 +0000 UTCVince, you are wise beyond your years, man. There is a clarity that comes with a diagnosis like this that really is a gift. My diagnosis of Young Onset Parkinson's Disease came 11 years ago, and while it doesn't directly threaten your life, it 100% takes away the quality of that life. So when you say that you get it that Walt wants to make the decision for himself, that is the TRUTH. Everyone with YOPD has to confront that choice sooner or later. Do we want to do the work required to make our days just a bit better? With intense exercise we can force our brains to produce what small amounts of Dopamine we have left, but it takes a monumental effort to convinces ourselves to do it without the Dopamine being there in the first place. Nobody looks forward to having brain surgery while being awake, but that is by far the most effective treatment to improve our quality of life. Many of us Parkies (people with Parkinson's) are so afraid of the procedure that they just put it off for as long as they can, many of them spending years suffering through escalating symptoms rather than facing the surgery. We are all given a life, but no guarantee of it's quality or it's length. The clarity that I mentioned at the beginning of this essay, (apparently I'm writing essays in your comments section now), is that once we realize just how valuable the good times in our lives are, the choice to fight like hell for the quality of our time rather than the length of that time becomes crystal clear. Only Walt can decide the value of his time and his suffering. It was really great to see you make that realization, and I hope you don't mind this novel I've written here. I just wanted to share the lesson I've learned. It may have come the hard way, bu tthe clarity is worth it, 100%.

2024-03-25 04:02:57 +0000 UTCI’ve seen this show several times and real talk every time Walter Jr. gets the talking pillow in this episode it hits super hard, he is speaking his truth so well and I find it a great moment for the viewer to emotionally connect with his character. Not to say I don’t understand Walters perspective himself I definitely do, but each time you rewatch this show you begin to understand the perspectives and actions of the other characters a whole lot better, I’m sure anyone else who has rewatched could agree.

One you could say was self defense but then Domingo was just kept hostage then killed, then they just move on 😅 No one was murdering or dissolving anyone until Walt’s needs and wants get introduced but he’s also the one we feel sorry for

2024-03-24 16:36:03 +0000 UTCI have to agree with Shoshana on Skyler. Just for context, you're not the first reactors to find her annoying/irritating at this point. As great as this show is overall, I think one of its flaws is that it feels like Skyler and Hank are both walking stereotypes half the time in the first season (Skyler = overbearing Karen wife/mom). But don't worry, they'll both eventually have a lot more depth to their characters as the show goes into the second season onwards. And you're right about them being great actors for these roles, which you'll really see in later seasons. Enjoying these reactions! :-)

It is truly a once in a lifetime show experience. Bryan Cranston won more Emmys than any actor in history for this show. Aaron Paul (jesse) also won an emmy.

It's basically a poison that kills not just cancerous cells but also healthy cells, which leads to side effects like hair loss. But it's incredibly effective, saves a lot of lives. Walt was probably getting an MRI or CT scan. Could be radiation therapy but probably not.
