Feedback On Genre Specific Suggestions/Movie Polls

So, comment down below the best way that you feel like we could implement a specific genre-based suggestion/movie poll. Topmost liked comment will be implemented on the next following week suggestion/movie poll. Also, we will still do an all genre-based suggestion/movie poll at least once or twice a month still. Just because it's a metric we use to decide what movie goes over to YouTube. Once more we just ask that you guys try and stay as positive as possible down in the comments🙏 We would really appreciate it. Love you guys❤️

2024-03-10 02:40:03 +0000 UTCI think one thing that would be really helpful is if we could have some hard and soft limits. It will give all of us an easier way of choosing (examples below). Plus, do you guys have a list of what you've already done that can be added to every poll via a Google document link or something similar or even a way to knock down the mass repeats? That would take more man power but it can get upwards 400 ideas per post and you're only supposed to place a like on one vs liking every single one, which unfortunately isn't done because I don't think people are reading. That can be something easily taken care of by carefully wording posts so that everyone can understand them, then the trickle down would be caught before it bursts into that 400 realm hardly anyone wants to look through. For instance, Game of Thrones. You've already done at least 3 seasons and stopped that I could tell. As it's unfortunately not in order. Would that be a hard limit/no to restarting as MANY have requested it in the last couple polls since I've been here? The other major hard limit I've seen since being here is no to snakes. Then we have The Boys (btw, you guys rock for doing both), I think that one would be a soft limit type situation. Meaning one of you tried it but you're willing to try again if we request it enough. That can be x amount of requests that's personal to you guys only that no one else needs to know. No matter what this is both of your journeys, we're just along for the ride with requests and reactions. Regardless, not everyone can be made happy. That'd be really lovely, but inevitably an impossibility. We all need that Kumbaya moment. 😂 If you need assistance you have some AWESOME people here already trying to help on requests. I am willing to help if you'd like my input. I do have ideas we could talk about privately or in a private chat with whomever else you choose so everyone can weigh in while also being kept in the loop. I'm sorry for the novella I just had a lot of ideas running through my head to make it easier for all and I have more still percolating in there. I think I'm in what feels like a minority of older peeps. I'm sure we of the more mature persuasion are going to be helpful. I'm not dissing those younger because all of you are intelligent, helpful to the Squad, just saying us older folk have hopefully more hands on knowledge as it should be. The day I stop learning is the day I take my last breath. Oh, also someone with an editing and writing background to help get the initial request posts in, hopefully, a more structured layout. NOT because yours are not well written, more to make sure all are on the same page. I have a feeling we all have great ideas on this as well, feel free to add? It will make this whole process much easier in the end.

You should also do specific decades once in a while. “Favorite 90s movies” would give tons of great suggestions that don’t normally win in general polls.

2024-03-10 01:50:11 +0000 UTCI have another to add in. Horror and Thriller can be two very different animals. I see horror as more Rob Zombie/slasher/gore. Thrillers can also be horror but then you have psychological Thrillers or Mind Fuckery. That can be done with almost any genre though.

2024-03-10 00:57:28 +0000 UTCI would say, you decide the schedule, for example: Week 1 = Horror Week 2 = Comedy Week 3 = Action Week 4 = Drama Week 5 = Animated/Cartoon Something like that in whatever order you like and then restart when you cover all the genres you feel you want to cover. You can do that for the most commonly requested genres and then do one for like all the lesser requested genres combined, like western, musicals, etc, those can all be combined on one poll.

Standard (Live Action unless specified) - Action, Drama, Horror, Comedy, Family, Animation, Foreign During the Awards month maybe do best picture nominees from current year and winners from previous years. During October maybe double dip on horror movies? 2nd Chance Poll - Movies that never made the cut from the past and people really want you to see but are concerned they may get overlooked again.

2024-03-10 00:01:34 +0000 UTCI wouldn’t worry too much about genre. As long as the movies we suggest have positive feedback, I feel like you’ll enjoy them as well. If anything though, I would advise watching an occasional western film. Those aren’t very common anymore, and some of them are classics worth checking out.

On the genre subject, i reckon popular IMDB moviegenres might help make things easier (https://m.imdb.com/feature/genre/). A poll for genre, then a poll for genre suggestions. For TV shows, as others have suggested, these can be split into long/short TV shows.

Drama Horror/Thriller Comedy Action/Adventure Sci-Fi/Fantasy Animation/Family Musicals/Classics/Westerns (Edited to add a couple categories others suggested) My only issue with doing a poll for genre and then a poll for the movie in that genre is that we'd still end up in only comedy and action territory every week probably.
