Yes it is. Its not "just" the bad people that have had it why its bad, at its core, it is fundamentally "against" human nature. People are a competitive species, we need to be able compete for what we get in order to "thrive", the old notion of "hard word and determination pays off"... Only free-trade Capitalism offers such a system for people to reach their potentials. Communism is one of those things that "sounds good" on paper, but in practices, its terrible. Its a system that has been and can be exploited by those in power to be the only ones that can "get ahead" whereas the common man is just like everyone else, and there are no incentives to learn basic skills that can be used for services, no rewards for being "better" at something than everyone else, and ultimately nothing to motivate oneself to be the best they can be because there is no reward at the end of that tunnel when everyone all shares everything. And because of this, its a system that expouses misery and ultimately mass death when the wrong person exploits the system.

2024-03-03 21:17:59 +0000 UTCJustin - When Tommy flinches upon hearing that they are communists, it's a beautiful depiction of a stereotypical mindset which associates communist=bad. What you are talking about, I suspect, are countries like China or Russia where governments have taken advantage of this system (and yes, I agree, nothing good about this). But communism in it's ideal form is by no way a bad thing - an ideology built around equality, strong social communities, equal opportunities, shared wealth production etc. It's interesting to see the difference in many reactors to this scene and how strongly "communism" is negatively associated only in certain countries, mainly the US.

2024-03-03 05:40:11 +0000 UTCThis particular episode had the only thing I didn't like about the show in it... The scene with the "positive" portrayal of "communism"... Its never been "good" in history, not even a single time, in fact it has the single most mass death attached to it, more than any religious crusades and more than most wars in human history combined, and the show paints it like it would be a "good" thing, which is quite the disingenuous thing to put in script... But I appreciated Shoshana catching on to it real quick when the show presented that scene.

Just like we were hyping up episodes 4&7 for ST4, episode 8 for this show is one of them ones!!!! Next episode is REALLY good as well. Great reaction as usual.
