I absolutely love this episode though I can't get over how they couldn't find actual teenagers for Eddie's friends and instead went with two 30 year old looking guys lol plus Angela's character and actresses performance is so cartoonish but other than them nitpicky things, amazing opening to an insane season

on the rude teacher. I had a teacher in middle school that would give us a test. then would have us grade ourselves. she would say each answer and we would mark it down, then she would make us go one by one and say what grade we got out loud to shame us. what an awful woman.

I just love this thing called diegetic audio in media. when the song is playing for us and then max takes her headphones off, and it sounds like the music is coming out of her headphones, I love that transition. Technically Diegetic sound originates only within the media, but that switch from sound track to in-world music just gets me.

The reason they look much older is because there's a huge gap between the filming of seasons. Covid happened right at the start of production and they had to hold off for quite a bit, and then it also required filming at 3 different locations. So season 1&2 had the shortest gap with only a year, whereas there was a whole 2 years between 2&3 and 3 years between 3&4 and will be 3 between 4&5.
