2023-10-17 16:55:46 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, Kate Bishop is a lot like Peter Parker when we met him in Civil War and Homecoming. Both young and immature, but have these naive dreams of being a hero. Peter's whole thing was how he has these powers and feels he needs to do to the right thing and help people, but after Civil War all he wanted to do join the Avengers and take care of huge threats, rather than take it slow and keep his feet on the ground like Tony was telling him. It took facing the Vulture and eventually Thanos for him to finally reach the point where he understands a bit more of what he has to sacrifice and go through to be the hero he wanted to be. And Kate, being so young when she lost her father and being influenced by Clint as she was, while not superpowered like Peter, learned all these archery and fighting skills and feels like she could and should be doing more. She definitely does have a natural arrogance that I can understand being put off by, but at least she can back it up even a little bit by her skills. She's certainly no Clint yet, but she's not exactly completely inexperienced. I think that's what this show is about. Her relationship with Clint and about humbling her a bit, while still giving her the room to grow in her abilities and experience. I love Kate and I love Hailee Steinfeld so I'm sure I'm biased, but I'm sure you'll grow to at least like Kate by the end lol Also, the picture Kate drew of Clint's potential costume, is actually what Hawkeye's costume originally was in the comics! And purple is Clint and Kate's signature color! Similar to how Loki's color is green and Tony's is red.

2023-10-17 14:20:28 +0000 UTCMaya Lopez is one of the MCU’s first deaf characters along with Makkari the Speedy Eternal. This is Alaqua Cox’s first acting role ever. A friend of hers sent her a link to a casting call for a Native deaf person. She turned it down the first time, but then two other friends sent her the same link. After three months worth of e-mails back and forth, she was cast into this role. She’s also a real-life amputee. They integrated that into her character. However, due to her prosthetic leg there were some kicks that she wasn’t able to execute. Those were left to her stunt double. She also fights with her elbows more than her fists. They had her limit her punching to protect her hands so she can continue communicating with ASL. Alaqua’s real life cousin got to portray Maya as a kid.
