2023-08-26 16:50:12 +0000 UTCThe thing about this movie is that when it came out, everyone was expecting a monster movie - and it is - but more than that - this is a natural disaster movie. The way it's framed - a lot of shots are from a human perspective, even when watching the fights themselves. It has a different kind of impact emotionally and I liked how the final product turned out - although the rest of the monsterverse is freakin' epic too!

A lot of people didn’t like this first movie’s take on Godzilla since they wanted more monster screen time instead of human screen time. But I think focusing on the humans more added that mysterious vibe to godzilla and just enhanced the moments where he was on screen. I enjoyed the human drama anyway so it wasn’t a problem for me so it’s good to see you guys like it too!!! Don’t worry though, in the later movies, they focus a lot more on the monsters, so if you felt it was a little lacking in this one you’re in for a treat!

And since we currently have no way to recycle them, we just bury them deep underground because they’re still radioactive. And with the nuke sizes the ones in the 40’s and 50’s were measured in kilotons, while todays are measured in megatons. So you gotta imagine how powerful todays megaton bombs are compared to those. I believe one of todays bombs is equal to 80 Hiroshima bombs

They build giant bunkers to house reactor and weapon materials that are still radioactive for safety. She helped build a lot of these desert sites. I Would chill in the Las Vegas hotel rooms with grandma while mom went into the desert and worked at these sites. And yes the nukes now make the 40s and 50s nukes look like child's play. They are insanely powerful.

So the order of the monsterverse is: Godzilla 2014, then kong skull island 2017(with after credits), then Godzilla king of the monsters 2019(also with after credits), then finally godzilla vs kong 2021. CANT WAIT for you guys to see more of this universe😀

One thing I really think they nailed in this one (and the future movies) is the sense of scale.. these monsters are enormous. Just like the MCU, Kong: Skull Island & Godzilla: King of the Monsters have end credit scenes. I don't think there is one in this one or Godzilla vs Kong, but I could be wrong.
