I personally liked it more then Into the Spider-verse. Definitely is a top 3 spidey movie.

As for the third, the studio shoehorned in all types of bullshit taking creative control from Raimi. I believe Sandman was to be the only villain originally. Peter validated what she said but he told her the honest facts that there will always hear criticism regardless if you are a success. I hear you Vince but sometimes people need the hard truth in Mary Janes situation. You can only improve. It's not a loss, it is a lesson.

2023-06-05 19:58:34 +0000 UTCSo, there WAS a Spiderman ride at Universal Studios in Orlando FL back when I was a kid "35 now", my dad took me to it a couple of times, but it revolved around the first film if I remember correctly. You had to be saved by Spiderman from the Green Goblin and other villains in it... Not sure if it's still there or not... The waiting line was cool too because you were touring the Daily Bugle inside the building and walking through the waiting line area.

Then in 2016 they made a deal with marvel allowing spidey to show up in civil war and future MCU projects but it's still a Sony production. His particles got demolecularized and so he became a living human who can turn into sand. Venom, is a symbiote who at first in the comics bonded to Spiderman. Made him stronger but more rash and angry. It's not necessarily dark side

2023-06-05 01:31:06 +0000 UTCSony owns movie rights for Spider-Man. Disney bought the rights for all the other marvel characters. Sony lets Disney use Tom Holland Spider-Man for the MCU. It's actually important that you guys see Andrew Garfield Spider-Man as well before you move on to phase 4.

2023-06-05 01:16:21 +0000 UTCThe whole Venom and symbiote thing was very random in this movie which shows that it was thrown in at the last minute by Avi Arad. Sam Rami was very limited on his knowledge of Venom as a character so he was never planned on using Venom for this film but of course Avi Arad holds all the power and thus we get a very thrown in Venom storyline. Sam wanted the film to be about forgiveness and just have Harry and sandman as villains. Sam also had really interesting plans for a Spider-Man 4 but that was cancelled around 2008. I do love the Black suit (And it's theme) it's pretty much just a black version of the Sam Rami suit which I love while in the comic's the black suit had a large white spider symbol which looked amazing and the suit itself was just black with no webbing like we see on the Sam Rami suit, webbing itself is pretty unique to his suit. It's just the fact the storyline was thrown into this film instead of built up. Venom is too much of an interesting concept to be wasted in one film. Venom himself was pretty, well it was different I guess he wasn't at a large creature who has both a dark and funny side like we see in the comics, instead he was normal sized just like Spider-Man. The Venom movies do a much better job at this so excited to see you're thoughts on those. Gwen Stacy does play a big part in Spider-Man she was Peter's first real love. Technically MJ showed up first in the comic's as she appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #25. Granted, her face was covered so it was more of a cameo than an appearance. Gwen Stacy showed up shortly afterwards in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 full appearance too, not just a cameo. And finally correct Sony Pictures Releasing Distributes the Spider-Man films while the Production companies are Columbia Pictures (Member of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group) and Marvel Entertainment. Sony to this day still own the movie rights to Spider-Man so you'll be seeing the Sony logo in every single Spider-Man related film even if it's connected to the MCU. Sam Rami on Venom: "I thought it would be unfair to β the Venom storyline, unfortunately, has Eddie Brock β the establishment of who he is and what he is β the symbiote coming to Peter Parker first and you've got to go through his entire getting of the black suit, the dark Peter, the ridding of the black suit, before it even comes on to Eddie Brock. So the very nature of that story demands that you either do it two part, if you want to spend more time with Venom, which I didn't think was fair to the audience, to the fans of Spider-Man. I thought about it, I really did, and I kept reading the fans' emails that Avi would send me saying they'd better not just introduce him to tease us, that would be β I felt that the fans didn't want that from the thousands of emails that were sent me. So I thought okay, they want β cuz I tried to do that, and Avi said 'you're not giving me what I asked you' he said they want Venom, just give them Venom already. So, I said okay, but obviously, through the very nature of it, he's only going to be in half an act or one act. I'll just make it as thorough and the best that I can, deliver Venom in the most complete way that I understand the fans might want him. That was my desire. I was led there."

This movie had its ups and downs (that awful dance scene π) but I really like the lesson it was trying to teach us about forgiveness, and the choices we make. That ending scene with Peter forgiving Flint, and then Peter and Harry forgiving each other is a beautiful moment. Harryβs death scene still gets me all these years later π
