They really did Mary Jane dirty in these movies. She has a boyfriend, brakes up with him, immediately gets with harry then breaks up with HIM to be with Peter and got rejected. All in 1 movie, then we know 2 takes place 2 years after uncle Ben died but it never said how long after she broke up with harry, since Peter didn't know about her new boyfriend it had to be what? Months? And she's already getting married? Then she pretends to love her fiance while trying to kiss Peter, then leave him AT THE ALTER to be with peter.... not a good look. Her character seems to only exist to scream and see "woah what will Peter do now?" Kinda sad to me

I respect your opinion guys but I think a lot of fans might disagree. I think it was well executed the struggle Peter had to go through choosing between being Peter and being Spiderman. They don't often show that in the current MCU. And the fight scenes as you say was masterful. The train fight scene is probably the Spiderman fight on film. Doc Oc was amazing. Easily stole the show. But I admit that Mary Jane's schtick was a bit on the nose. Lol. But overall a solid 9/10 for me

I agree! We're just hanging out on the couch watching movies. If I had to talk for this long I'd say all kinds of wacky things. I also understand it might be a little intimidating with big movies like this that some people know so well.

I hope you guys understood the point of this movie, the struggle of being spider man and trying to have a normal life, he has to sacrifice having a normal life and be Spider-Man for everyone even tho he doesn’t want to be Spider-Man any more he just wants to be happy but finally is happy with being Spider-Man when he sees how much everyone needs him

Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2 is still one of my favourite renditions of the character a lot closer to his trench coat wearing Ultimate universe version just without the slick chrome arms connected to a device around his waist not too different to the one in this movie. In the Ultimate universe the metal strap around him was burnt into his waist skin after a lab explosion in Oscorp. In Earth-616 (Main Marvel Universe) during an atomic research project, Octavius' body was fused to four mechanical, tentacle-like arms, also causing him severe brain damage that turned him into a criminal. So its like a mix of both and plus Ultimate Spider-Man just started releasing comics in 2000 and was massive throughout the early 2000s so they of course were inspired by this and the mainline comics. The scene of Doc Ock in the hospital is still one of my favourite Superhero movie scenes of all time it's just so Sam Rami from the side tracking shots of the tentacles to the woman screaming followed by a side shot of a chainsaw hand all very Evil Dead 2. Should also point out that Sam Rami's Spider-Man is the only rendition of the character with organic webbing. Every other version from the movies, shows, cartoons and mainline comic's from Earth-616 to the Ultimate version all feature Spider-Man using web shooters which he created himself. These web shooters tend to use a cartridge where Spider-Man reloads each time or it will run out. Many have theorized that the Doctor Strange (Mentioned in this film) of this universe is just a famous neurosurgeon so it's cool that they made a nod to another Superhero who should be coming up next in you're MCU reactions. It's still up for debate on who exists in this universe because of licencing reasons. Also find it pretty cool that Sam Rami referenced Doctor Strange in 2004 and now 17 years later he directed the Doctor Strange sequel film. In Spider-Man 1 Jameson references 'these weirdos have all got to have a name now' in relation to Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, but this could allude to other superheroes/villains existing in New York City ones we just don't see in the film. Kevin Fiege, who served as a producer on the first Spider-Man film, tried to get Hugh Jackman to appear in the movie as Wolverine, but couldn't due to not being able to have access to the costume. Even if he had the costume I doubt Fox would've even let that happen for Wolverine to appear in a Sony product but who knows. Also the first thing to jump into my head was the classic Wolverine costume from the comics but then i realised the outfit was no doubt the Tight leather outfits from X1 and X2. They could've just had Logan show up in some jeans and his white vest lol The producers wanted Thomas Jane to make a cameo as Frank Castle in Spider-Man 2, as he was starring as the character in The Punisher (2004). But Sony didn't own the film rights, so his stunt double was used and can be seen when MJ is running through the Central Park Conservancy I believe, you could see one guy in the background turn around who looks a lot like Thomas Jane's Punisher. So head canon I like to think that Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, X-Men, and Fantastic Four all exist together as part of the 2000s shared universe. Or at least they could've if studios back in the 2000s listened to the creatives and pushed for the idea of more cameos and crossovers between other hero's. Thankfully we have the MCU for that.
