Ill explain: Eren knows hes going to do the rumbling in the future but is struggling with the thought of it as it is horrific obviously. He asked Mikasa what she thinks of him while knowing from future memories she says hes family. This question was erens last desperate attempt to see if he could change the future. If she had said she loved him Erens mind would have been blown because the future would have changed and then he would have decided to live out his remaining 4 years with her, but obviously she said what he expected which made him more depressed. The refugee man coming up to them is drawn to look like it is eren and mikasas wedding but sadly that will never happen because of what was explained above. The man definitely isnt a marriage celebrant, he was purely offering them to come and share a drink with them as the young boy Ramzi had just talked to eren. I imagine the boy told his grandpa that Eren was crying (from that scene in part 3) and the grandpa invited them to cheer eren up which is why hes smiling at him a lot. Ramzi steals money as we know from part 3 in order to build up his money so that one day he can free his refugee family from the refugee camps, that is the only reason, nothing to do with any marriage preparation

That’s why the man came up with drinks in two fancy cups and there was so much food prepared in the tents when they got there. Eren asked them to set it up which is why the kid was pick pocketing Eren’s friends. Unless those homeless just happen to eat a ton every night and have fancy cups despite being in poverty.

Is that why the cups were fancy and the man was smiling?! Is that also why there was a bunch of food prepared because Eren asked them about it? I knew about Eren hoping Mikasa would say she loves him but I totally missed the proposal side of it. That’s gotta be why that little kid was following Sasha and Levi around, so he could get the money for all the drinks and food for the party. Eren really planned a whole marriage on liberio and it totally flew over mine and mikasas heads 🤦♂️
