2023-02-21 01:00:03 +0000 UTCMCU references: (No spoilers) So this film released around the same time as the MCU movies Infinity War and Endgatwo massive movies that were built up since Avengers from 2012 so there's of course alot of MCU references. Characters mentioned like Thanos and Hawkeye are from the MCU for example Hawkeye is an Avenger while Thano is a very important villain. Do the Avengers exist in the Fox X-Men universe? No idea but for legal reasons Fox can't use Avengers characters or any other IPs owned by Marvel like Guardians of the Galaxy etc. Maybe they do exist it's just Fox aren't allowed to feature them in these movies. Deadpool in the comics has worked alongside characters like Spider-Man, Punisher, and the Avengers but legal reasons his films were limited to X-Men related characters and villains. Deadpool also mentions a bunch of comic book issues when Juggernaut shows up which is him breaking the forth wall even mentioning a Thor comic another Avenger character. Again with Deadpool's ability to break the forth wall it's imposable to know if these characters actually exist in this universe. Deadpool 3 set in the MCU: It's is confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be an MCU film so most likely Deadpool with cross over into the MCU using Cables time travel device messing up the timeline to the point where he's taken to the MCU. Can't go into how he could be taken to the MCU as this could be spoilers but I will say that the MCU is diving into the multiverse so anything is possible. Deadpool also mentions Batman who is a DC character which is pretty fun to hear mentioned in a Marvel movie. DC comics no doubt exists in Marvel universes anyways pretty much everything pop culture exists in Marvel and even Marvel comics themselves exist in the comic books only difference being they create comics around real hero's pulling from the real life adventures of characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, etc. Cable: Nathan Summers also known as Cable is such a cool character. In the comic's he's the son of Madelyne Pryor, a clone of Jean Grey created by Mister Sinister, yes that's his actual supervillain name. Sinister then had Pryor seduce Cyclops (Scott Summers) in order to conceive a child that he believed would be a phenomenally powerful mutant. Cable is played by Josh Brolin who voices the character of Thanos in the MCU which is why Deadpool referred to him as Thanos. The X-Men: At 28:47 these are the 1980s X-Men rendition in in X-Men First Class from 2011 which was a prequal to the 2000s movies. First Class is set in the 1960s followed by X-Men Apocalypse set in 1980 and finally Dark Phoenix set in the 1990s. Timeline wish it makes no sense for these characters to be played by there younger actors instead of the original actors from the 2000s X-Men films. Could see that scene being a funny little nod at how the continuity of the X-Men movies are all over the place showing that these characters have not aged lol Juggernaut: And finally Juggernaut is a really cool character the step-brother of Professor X who is the leader of the X-Men. Future movies: Overall this is such a good film and I do highly recommend checking out the X-Men films or dive into the MCU with Iron Man from 2008. There's also the 2000s Spider-Man movies that like X-Men aren't apart of the MCU as they predate Iron Man 2008 but there really good. You also have the Amazing Spider-Man reboot that is set in a new universe from the 2000s Spider-Man movies.
