2023-03-15 19:36:41 +0000 UTCThis movie is beautiful in many aspects (music being one of them), but i like the most how they haven't cheapened it with a "love story", which wasn't even that much of a love, just feeling some sense of closeness, sharing something in common (love for that place, people). That humble kiss and her resting head on his shoulder was perfect visualization of that feeling. Beautiful :)

2023-02-05 00:31:13 +0000 UTCThe only thing I do not like is how this move romanticizes the samurai when in fact the commoners suffered heavily under their rule. A samurai could kill a commoner for any perceived slight, real or imagined. And their strict adherence to 'tradition' made sure nothing improved for the lower classes until after the Meiji reforms.
