I've been to ruins of the Colosseum in Rome and they're are still quite impressive, this movie does a great job of capturing what it must have been like in ancient times.

The acting in this movie is phenomenal. Joaquin Phoenix plays Commodus in such a way that you hate him but at the same time feel sorry that he never felt loved by his father. Russell Crowe plays Maximus with such a reserved quiet ferocity that commands respect. Anyways just a bang up movie and reaction. Aloha!
