Just want to let you guys know both Eugene Sledge and Bob Lecky wrote books about their time in the military and their experiences in war, they're called "a helmet for my pillow" and "with the old breed" Just incase you like reading.

One of the surviving Marines wrote about the guy having a nightmare/panic attack. They even gave him morphine to calm him, but it didn’t work, so one of them hit him with a shovel and accidentally killed him. They all swore to never tell who did it. Runner called Leckie “cobber”, which is an Australian term for “buddy”. Peleliu was absolute hell on earth.
