But Theon chose his family and burnt the letter signifying his allegiance to his family and his betrayal of Robb. He was baptized to his family now. Vance was absolutely right about Theon. You can see how Theon's betrayal of his own family giving him up to the Starks after the Greyjoys failed in an earlier rebellion shattered his own confidence in himself always wanting to get someone's approval.
