Thanks for this. I’ve been trying to tell people these films are not really the flops people are painting them to be. But some people on YouTube (and the people who follow them) have a vested interest in portraying these film’s as money losers. They literally can’t be honest about it as it ruins their narrative that the public doesn’t want to see these films anymore, while in truth the real “problem” is that people in general aren’t going to theaters as much as they used to. And that is affecting all types of films across the board. If Disney was truly losing money on these films since Endgame, as they would have you believe, they would have pulled the plug a long time ago. No studio, no matter how big, is going to keep putting money into films that lose money, not year after year anyway.

2025-09-02 13:37:42 +0000 UTCI will say this about Post Pandemic Box Office - any movie that comes out associated with a streamer like Disney, HboMax, Prime, Paramount+ and Peacock - all of those movies and their advertising budgets are paid for with streaming revenue like a Netflix or AppleTV movie - so these movies don’t lose money these days - it’s just a matter of how much free money can they make at the box office before living forever on the streamer. Which is why movies do to digital within 30 days now instead of hanging around at the multiplex for 3 months. Movies from companies like SONY or LIONSGATE or A24 need box office to make money because they don’t have subscriber revenue they only have licensing revenue which is far less. So nothing will ever stop us from getting Marvel or Star Wars or DCU or Tom Cruise movies as long as they’re coming from those above mentioned companies. Disney+ generates about a billion dollars a month in subscription fees alone.

He mailed back this morning saying that it seems to be exclusive to PiB as they are not seeing complaints from any other Patreon sites. That seems to leave it in Ben's court (and associated tech team). I'd appreciate it if he could take a look and see if there's any reason specific to the site (it started about two weeks ago), but if not, we're going to have to put up with it.
