Added 2025-07-22 09:30:02 +0000 UTCHad to do a little switcharoo from Man of Steel to Bringing up Baby, for good reason though! Carly wants to watch Man of Steel with me! I thought she had already seen it, but she hadn’t and really wants to! Yay!
Bringing Up Baby was so much fun! Earnest and nerdy Cary Grant and chaotic Katherine Hepburn were the perfect pair. I loved how she was not the usual poised, elegant leading lady and so completely herself. I too have gotten into someone else’s car and started driving so I could relate a little to her a bit 🫠

Philadelphia Story is my favorite Hepburn movie, put her back on the Hollywood map. Jimmy Stewart taking home the Academy Award for best actor and throw in Grant ...I think Cassie would really enjoy this one.

Claude Rains deserves a mention for the most sympathetic villain. 2. The Philadelphia Story - Grant, Hepburn, Stewart and whatshisface (sorry!) in a love rectangle!!! And Hepburn gets told off for her arrogance and narcissism. She was box office poison after unfavorable interviews with the press, who called her “Katharine of Arrogance”. Hepburn bought the film rights and made a come back after she gets a comeuppance in the film. Her self humbling made her popular once again. Grant and Stewart are friendly rivals. 3. His Girl Friday - Fast paced, quick-fire wit and love-hate between Grant and Rosalind Russell, whose tough reporter Hildy Johnson is a match against her boss and ex-husband Grant, whose tough, sometimes unethical character will do anything to win her back.
