The shock from having the bomb actually explode I think is one of my favorite reactions from you.
I just thought. As much as you have enjoyed the Jack Ryan films. You should check out the Jason Bourne series too.

I don’t know why I’m constantly amazed, but every time I watch a reaction here it reminds me why you’re my favorite. The way you throw yourself into it and are so expressive during the movie, and the passion you’ve got for the characters. It’s like you’re right there with them and I love it and I love this channel so much!!

Question for you Cassie. I'm curious why we can't get YT edits earlier than just a few hours before the premiers?

I prefer the sequel, where Affleck has to do a series of difficult maths tests in order to save the world. It's called The Fear Of All Sums.

Hi Cassie, I’m so glad you watched this. It’s just your kind of thriller/suspense movie. I’m not a Affleck fan, but I thought he did a good job in this one.
I think you should do this more often, just choose a movie you like, no theme, season or poll, just a good Cassie movie which is bound to give us a great reaction like this one.
Another Thriller/Suspense with a touch of sci-fi you may like is “Deja vu” with Denzil Washington and Val Kilmer. Another one of those investigative kinda movies.
Thanks Cassie
You are the best ❤️

You should put THE PEACEMAKER with George Clooney and Nicole Kidman on your list, it's very similiar to this one.

If you want more high stress thrillers, check out “The Kingdom” (2007) with Jamie Foxx and and A24’s “Warfare.”

I have read a few Tom Clancy books. They are really well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. It's cool that movies bring back memories of the first time you watched it. We loved this reaction
We saw Materialists last night I won't say much
but will leave you with what my IMDB score. I screen shoted this when in Chi-town https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZYsiY55K7hkrd3on8

Honestly, there’s always a part of me that thinks, "I hope they fail,” when I watch these kinds of films. So seeing the bomb actually go off was a fun little surprise. Most of the time, the hero ends up stopping it anyway, just like you said during the reaction.
Also, Tom Clancy doesn’t really do post-apocalyptic stories, so I kind of figured the world wasn’t actually going to end in this film. I can’t think of any Clancy novels that go full post-apocalyptic since his stories usually have the big world-threatening event stopped just in time. The Division video game series is the one exception.

Tom Clancy really was such a smart man, definitely taken from us too soon. The movie does divert some from the book and although obviously I hope we never have to learn for real, I think the response to a nuclear attack by both sides and the attempted escalation was about as accurate as it could get. Cassie, if you’re at all interested I recommend you read about Stanislav Petrov and the 1983 Soviet nuclear false alarm incident. That year the Soviets thought the United States launched a nuclear attack on them and Petrov was the early warning commander the night it happened but when the satellites only detected five missiles Petrov knew it didn’t make sense and elected not to recommend a response, and obviously he was correct. I’m very glad you seemed to enjoy the movie.

When this first came out I thought it was weird and unrealistic to have white supremacists who are fascists as the bad guys, as that seemed like a pretty outdated reference at the time. Little did I know this movie was actually fortelling where the world would be in 2025.
